Gotta agree with that. There's no way in hell Madara's loosing this. I'm seeing a five chapter arc detailing this fight in the future, likely flashing back to when the Rain duo first met Madara, before we actually get back to Naruto.

How funny would it be if she actually wins, though? Konan kills Madara and then moves onto Sasuke, killing him before Naruto even knows what happened. It'd make for one hell of a plot twist.

 

And one hell of a suicide dive for Kishimoto and his series...

That would be nice; but considering the kind of crap some Naruto fans put out it would be a mixed blessing. The world does not need fangirls writing more High-School fics where Konan is the cool emo/goffik teacher.

 

The translation in the last panel is a little confusing. Did Madara imply that Konan is really Nagato and that Pein did some last minute body switching? Or is he just asking Konan for the location of Nagato's body so that the Rinnegan eyes can be removed? Thanks Republic21.

Kisame's death was epic. He managed to keep enemy ninja from getting further knowledge from his mind AND still managed to fuck over an entire group of highly capable ninja by having his shark summon get the scroll back to Akatsuki.

Not 'Rinnegan, and Nagato'. This DOES seem to be implying that Madara is addressing Nagato, not Konan...

Maybe he meant where she hid the Rinnegan, as in, where she hid Nagato. Its the same and he states the obvious.
I could be wrong, but it seems more plausible that way.

 

True, it could just be an odd phrasing.

 

It kind of fits in with Madara's character. He views the eyes as more important than the person, so he mentions the former with importance and then the latter almost offhand.

 

The paper doesn't get destroyed because she got laminated.

 

Yeah, I want more Konan-related fanfiction, but the fandom could really do without more crap literature. I've always like Konan since she's one of the few female, semi/really important characters who can actually kick ass and chew bubblegum, while being all out of gum.

The only authors I would trust to write a good fanfic involving Konan in any serious capacity are Howdy, Methinks, True Radical Dreamer, Denim88, Shadow Rebirth, LD 1449, pudgypudge, and maybe Jon.

But I wouldn't hold my breath on that last one. I hear he's a pretty slow writer.

 

Jiraiya used a massive amount of slime to keep Konan stuck together. The slime didn't destroy the paper.

 

Oil is not water; in fact, Pain used water to get the oil off of her in the first place.

Also, I would hesitate to apply too much real-world logic to a universe where earth is more vulnerable to electricity instead of grounding it out. Magical chakra paper does not act like and have all the vulnerabilities of normal paper.

 

Konan and Naruto should have destroyed Rinnegan when Nagato died or Konan should have given it to Naruto ("true" child of prophecy). Without Rinnegan it should be impossible to summon demonic statue of outer path that contains Bijuu. But I could be mistaken about it. Madara stated something about Sasuke summoning it but Madara is a big fat liar.

 

I remember claiming long ago that Konan was probably the weakest member of Akatsuki, because paper is useless in so many ways. Now, I'm really hoping that she'll prove me wrong.

 

So much for being a strong member in Akatsuki. Everyone is dead bar Madara, Zetsu and Konan. You can't count Sasuke or Kabuto.

 

It must be accepted that, while there have been many instances of complete fail, Kishimoto has proven that he can create things that are just so awesome and epic that they should not exist.

 

What is going on with Kabuto anyway? We haven't seen him in a while.
