Yes; as it so often does, fanfiction took a fundamentally sensible idea (that students at the Academy probably sparred with each other) and immediately took it in the most idiotic direction possible and repeated it ad nauseam.

On another note, I don't see what the problem is with the Fox referring to Sasuke. it would be kind of weird if the Fox wasn't familiar with Sasuke after all the time it's spent sealed inside of Naruto, and trying to browbeat Naruto into giving up by raising the whole "you can't save Sasuke" issue makes perfect sense.

 

He suppressed a miniscule portion of the Kyuubi persuading Naruto to use his power. Naruto completely subdued him at full power with no bloodline techniques at all. A fair bit different, I think.

Also, it's not him referring to Sasuke that I don't like. It's the familiarity with which he does so. I just don't like hate given physical form being on a first name basis with anyone.

 

The sparring wasn't as fanfictionish as Kyuubi talking to Naruto in his head with bold letters.

"For Kyuubi/Summons" etc.

I'm hoping that everything blows up in Naruto's face. He defeats Madara and ends the war thinking that all of the hatred has ended only to find out that while they were all fighting Kumo had kept some forces in reserve and invaded Konoha during the war. Then we get another 3 years of Naruto fighting a real war ^_^

 

Kumo would have to be really fucking retarded to invade the village of the guy who just beat the greatest threat to the shinobi world. Three years? Try three minutes.

*Walks into Konoha*

Nah, we've seen a couple times that there are ways around a jinchuuriki's power. Of all the hidden villages Kumo seems to be the only competent one. I think they'd have a plan to neutralize Naruto's power. Plus, I think Naruto will have Kyuubi extracted so he'll lose the new Kyuubi form. If that happens then Naruto has sage mode while powerful isn't kyuubi form.

 

... What?

Naruto, I'm quite sure, needs the Kyuubi form to survive right now. What with Madara and Sasuke and their uber eyes and enormous Bijuu statue, and the entire fucking army of Zetsu clones. If he loses it, he's fucked. Sage mode aint got nothing on materializing shit from your imagination.

Unless Kishi pulls some completely contrived power up out of his ass to keep Naruto just as powerful, if not more, after the Kyuubi is extracted. In which case... there goes Kumo's advantage anyway.

 

His new power up will be . . .

Makes sense to me.

Chapter was meh. Naruto's little smack down at the end was nice to see, but that was about it. Leave it to Kishimoto to have the fox be the voice of logic and reason in the world, for once, vocalizing the thoughts of just about everyone on this thread including myself, only to have Naruto shut it down.

Also, is it just me, or does anyone else have serious doubt about Madara actually being killed by Naruto? I mean, it's not like he's killed anyone else in the whole series.

 

Yes. It would be a sensible ending that Naruto achieves his goal, but realizes that hate is part of human nature and that he is just a man, he can't change shit.

Just like the Shaman King ending (awesome btw), where the characters, despite all their massive powers, can do jackshit to actually change the world and they realised that.

Makes perfect sense.

Basically what Lutris said. Can't wait to see Nagato and Itachi in action together. Also, my guess is that when Neji was looking far ahead he was caught in some mind controlling technique.

Not sure if serious, but if it is then you're wrong. They are fighting for their own futures, after all it isn't really you if you are controlled by a uber illusion.

I like this particular twist with Neji, though I suspect that it is a genjutsu.

 

My guess is that Nagato and Itachi are going to show up and intercept Raikage and Tsunade when they try to stop Naruto. I hope Itachi in particular at least stays around long enough to have a run-in with Sasuke though.

 

Neji is one of awesome-est characters, and one of the few left, if they ruin him too, which will happen if Sakura is the one who incapasitates him, I'll fucking rage.
That said, Itachi and Pain ftw.

 

I'm sure academy fighting was mentioned back in part 1 at some point.

I hope the Nine-Tails dosen't go soft, that would ruin a him. Although with the way Naruto makes friends, I see it happening.
