Madara is, as ever, a gigantic boss. It seems that this was all his plan from the beginning. I am a bit disappointed that he could actually summon the Kyuubi, as this seems to validate thousands of crappy fics as well as being simply broken as fuck.

 

The fact that Madara somehow got some of The First's power and checked his own chest for something, makes me think he actually stole part of The First's body or something and transplanted it in himself.

It makes me wonder if he somehow created Nagato with Uchiha and Senju cells or something.

The way Madara and Kabuto talk about Tobi make me feel like that he is Madara's brother after all. They seem to be partners that actually trusted each other anyway.

 

I was more under the impression that Madara had never used mokuton before, but because of whatever Kabuto did to "complete" him he thought he would be able to now in his resurrected state.

I'm betting he's got a Hashirama face on his chest now.

 

I dunno. If this was the first ever use of Mokuton by Madara, then it was a pretty damned good one. I mean it seems to me that even if you gain the actual bloodline power, you still need to learn how to use it. Madara is cool and all but to be able to do something like he did with literally zero practise seems a bit silly to me.

I think it more likely that he stole something from Hashirama during his fight with him, and gained the mokuton from that. And then he had time to experiment and practise with Mokuton before he actually died, and thats how he knows how to use it to the extent that he does here.

He might indeed have the face though. It actually makes me wonder a bit, since Mokuton is not actually his natural power, would he be vulnerable to Kyuubi-Naruto. I mean we saw from Zetsus/Yamato that Naruto when in Kyuubi!Mode causes disruptions in Mokuton, turning Zetsus into trees and messing with Yamatos pillars. And when Danzo became too exhausted, Hashiramas face on him started to take over, turning him into a tree and forcing him to cut off his arm. Cant exactly do the same for your chest though.

That could actually be an amusing foreshadowing how Edo!Madara is going to be defeated. By Hashirama himself (or his implanted face anyway), decades after the man died himself, by gaining enough of a boost from Naruto's Yang!Kyuubi-chakra to turn Madara into a tree.

 

Kakashi copied that water-dragon jutsu and used it as he was copying it to great effect... I don't think Mokuton can be copied like that, but this is the EMS we're talking about, so... *shrug*

I was under the impression that he had used mokuton, but never had the chakra in his waning days to give it the 'umph' it has here.

 

That, or he simply knew enough about mokuton from his time both working with and fighting Hashirama that he has a basic idea about it. After that he could have just flooded it with chakra, not like what he did had much finesse or anything, he did just create massive roots.

 

Madara is broken as fuck. I will cry manly tears when he is trolled defeated.

 

It seems to me that he could have copied the jutsu, even without the ability to use it until he'd ninja'd hisself some Senju DNA. I still find it interesting that the Kyuubi and its chakra splits throughout the Shadow Clones. I was not impressed by him cheerleading Naruto, when all he did was stop a technique. What ever happened to Hiruzen's jutsu cancellation technique? Is that fandom?

 

I have this feeling Tsunade is going to pull a 3rd hokage and summon the death god

 

I actually think Kabuto's preparations amounted to another crystal akin to the one Naruto had before he crushed it.

Edit: Or he just gathered the shards Naruto left behind.

Even then the timeline still gives me a head-ache.

 

It's such a shame that the Edo Tensei Madara isn't the main villain. As mysterious as Tobi/the Masked Man is, Edo Tensei Madara is simply badass. He looks cooler than anyone else and is pretty much unquestionably the strongest ninja in the war right now. Mangekyou, Rinnegan, Mokuton, Kyuubi summoning contract... what a boss. I really, really want to see his complete Susanoo before he gets sealed up. Also a few more massive Katon jutsus. That Gouka Mekkyaku was epic. Sasuke has nothing on this guy.

Although I do have to say that I'm not a great fan of those two asteroids he pulled down with zero preparatory time. The physics of it... bleh.

I really hope Tsunade will display some new abilities we haven't seen before. She's supposed to be Senju, so she should be awesome. But until now she hasn't really done anything spectacular.

Finally, the Tsuchikage is one tough geezer. I'm liking him more and more, which is saying something since I wasn't very fond of him at all until now.

Either way I somehow see Naruto saving everyone's ass.

The fact that people still know Hiraishin but have never bothered to try to let someone else master it bothers me. Bring on the "Naruto gets taught Hiraishin by X" fanfics, Mark 2.

 

Really, those dupes know the Flying Thunder God technique? Not Jiraya, not the Sandaime, but those three?

Apart from that, liked Tsunade getting all ballsy and wanting to fight. Don't understand how the other Raikage made it through without getting injured if he was unable to do so before. Surely his lightning armor would have worked before too.

Onoki still talks too much.

Am curious for the next chapter though, it might be epic beyond words. Although, we are at the point, where we have seen too much from the Raikage and Tsuchikage. I want to see the females go all out for once.

 

First thought that came to my mind as well. Look out, here come the shitfics.

 

You know, I can understand that noone else was good enough to use the Flying Thunder God technique in battle, so okay, I'll let that one slide, but it still can function, as we have seen in this chapter, as a fucking teleporter.

The ability to instantly transport people and objects like that should be invaluable for Konoha. If they have it and if the secret lies within three people, none of which are that strong which means the secret is not that well guarded anyway, why not make more extensive use of it?

 

But that would require Kishimoto to write a strong, competent female character.

 

I know, a fools dream.

By the way, how did the Raikage get his hand back? Wasn't it burned to a crisp by Amaterasu, you know, the flames that don't stop burning?

Can they regrow arms now? I thought Tsunade is the only one who can truly regenerate.

Hopefully it's just a mistake, that wouldn't be that bad.

 

Hmm... I'm almost sure he only had one arm when he was fighting Naruto, but he pretty clearly has two hands on that last spread. Maybe he's wearing some kind of fist-shaped gauntlet? Or maybe Tsunade is just that boss.
