Honestly, I'd say we're just about due for an actual character death. The last interesting character to actually die was Itachi, and even then it wasn't until chapters later that we found out he was actually a good guy. And we have to go back about 200 or so chapters to get to Jiraiya's death, who I feel safe in saying was someone most fans actually cared about (unlike Asuma).

We're in a war, it's about damn time someone who we know ends up dead, and preferably by Sasuke's hand. Tobi, with all we know about him, and Madara are disconnected from the current generation entirely. They're villains, pure and simple, and can be construed by most as simply being evil. Sasuke, on the other hand, was "turned". A former good-guy, turned self serving, turned villain is actually an interesting character, and seeing him actually kill someone with a fanbase would really cement him in the "bad-guy" camp IMO, and would be good overall.

In regards to the chapter, the most interesting part was the final page where we saw Sasuke, and that says a lot about its content. With all the shinobi in the goddamn world heading towards Naruto's fight, the situation is ripe for Naruto to become the "World's Greatest Hero" in front of everyone:facepalm.

I swear, Kishi's motivating me to write more out of sheer annoyance at him.

 

You know, that may be the problem. Naruto really isn't something to be taken seriously- as far as I can tell from the shitty scanlations I've read, maybe a third of the actual story is meant to be taken seriously. Probably even less.

 

I thought Madara's thoughts were pretty interesting, but now I'm scratching my head wondering what his plans for Sasuke are specifically. At first I thought he was going to take Nagato's place as the master of the Gedou Mazou but Tobi seems to have some pretty nice control over it.

And it looks like Naruto/Hinata is the confirmed pairing despite Hinata's irrelevance. She basically stated flat out that she was gonna jump Naruto's bones after the war, and Sakura is still stuck on that being a team again crap.

God I hope Naruto kills Sasuke, but I know he won't. Kishimoto has been beating the teamwork and bonds bit into the ground since the beginning, so I can't possibly see any ending other than Sasuke's redemption.

 

God fuck that Sasuke redemption nonsense. It's probably going to happen, but with the way he's been behaving since way the fuck back when, it really, really shouldn't.

 

That's immediately what I jumped to as well.

I disagree. Most of the immortal kages weren't even really trying. When you factor in that most of the notable shinobi are already fighting elsewhere the stage is set for Sasuke to completely slaughter the army. I doubt they even have enough firepower to harm Sasunoo.


I would like Sasuke more if he died on the path he's on rather than him being redeemed.

 

Gai is going to die.

 

Speaking of Gai has Kishi ever said why Gai chose a turtle as a summon or why he has never apart from the one time at the exams?

 

He summoned it against Kisame to use as a jumping platform. Though that was the first time since the Chuunin Exams.

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if he found out Kakashi had a summon, went out and found a talking turtle and made a contract with it.

 

So how is this rain going to affect the battlefield? Will that amplify Sasuke's Raiton techniques? Make it easier for him to pull a Kirin out of his ass and wipe out a ton of faceless ninja (although I hope some minor characters bite it)? Will he, God forbid, evolve a R'innegan like Madara supposedly did? Sasuke with EMS is bad enough, I would hate to see Kishi hand him more cheap powerups; although, as strong as Naruto is right now there's now way Sasuke beats him without another powerup.

I'm actually more interested in resurrected!Madara and his battle against the Kages than Naruto and company vs. Tobi. I want to know more about the real Madara's plans and who his imposter is.

While this was a filler chapter, some serious shit is about to go down undoubtedly.

I was more interested in resurrected Madara just because of how awesome he's been so far.

This weeks double anime episode was awesome. Minato vs Tobi epic showdown, Minato and Kushina vs Kyuubi...

Well shit, that little bit about Naruto's parents was rather touching. His comment on Deidara got a snort out of me, though.

 

From his last answer I take that there will be no rumored Part 3. Sad to see it ending, but I think it's better that way.
