I'm more accepting, though that's partially because of the fanon I formed in absence of others like Naruto & Jiriaya at the time*. I'm personally fine with this level-up, though it is a bit too convenient and looks bad.

Frankly I hope Itachi and Sasuke just ROFLstomp him next chapter and it's done with.

Kabuto becoming Snake Sage... or is it Dragon Sage?

Also, it seems that by becoming a good guy Sasuke was depowered. I mean a moment ago after gaining EMS we speculated his chances with Naruto and now he and Itachi have problems with Kabuto especially considering the source of his (Kabuto) recent power-up.

 

No, Itachi is still fully capable of turning Kabuto into a nice pair of boots. He is handy capped by wanting to stop edo.

I'm not surprised by the Snake Sage, it never made sense that ONLY the toads had it.

 

I think it's about time that Kishi did something with summons other than toads.

Orochimaru with sharingan, MS, EMS, Rinnegan, Edo Zombies, and sage mode. World really dodged a bullet there.

 

Well hopefully someone skilled could write a Sage-Mode battle between Jiraiya/Orochimaru at some point.

Not really suprised by the Uzumaki clan bit. But...

Yeah... I think everyone's facepalming when they look at Naruto though.

 

It could also be a possible power up for Sasuke in a story if they don't want to go the advanced Sharingan route.

You read it wrong. All Uzumaki are gingers...but not all gingers are Uzumaki. I suppose they have Uzumaki fathers, 'cause technically, Naruto is a Namikaze. You do take your fathers name, traditionally...

We're not talking about legality/Tradition here. We're talking about bloodlines. He's part Uzumaki, Part Namikaze.

But both Red hair and Blonde hair are recessive traits.

Also, no, he's not a Dragon Sage, he's a Snake Sage, the snakes just named it the Dragon Cave because they have illusions of grandeur.

 

This chapter was both ridiculously useful for my fics...and just ridiculous. Karin being an Uzumaki is no surprise, and the revelation that it's not only the toads that have sage mode makes sense.

Still hated the chapter. Sasuke has no consistency as a character: one moment he's spitting rage, slaughtering bitches, and laughing about it. The next he's cool and calculating in a tag team battle with Itachi.

And Kabuto has quite literally become Orochimaru. Not just in terms of skill set (which is an unoriginal way to go for Kishi) but also in personality. He's the same cookie-cutter supervillain from Saturday morning cartoons who wants power for the sake of it and is evil for the lulz.

Fight will probably be awesome though.

Also, "And I'm a Dragon now!" has to be the single most retarded line of the whole series. I literally facepalmed...

 

It still seems troublesome for snake summoners to become sages. The toads live where you need to be to become a sage and can reverse summon. Orochimaru had to track where Juugo's energy came from.

 

No kidding. It takes a particularly rancid bucket of fail to make me actively cheer on Sasuke. Yet here I am.
