Orochimaru back is bad, and it sort of makes it more and more likely that we'll never truly see his death in this manga. Dude is a parasite. It did sort of make me smile how pathetic Kabuto has become, but God damn I hope somebody just rips Orochimaru's head off and is done with it.

Why the fuck are we seeing Sasuke and Oro when the Juubi is about to come back again?

 

Actually I like this because now Sasuke will be able to be blamed for all the shit that he does. And also, character development is always good. You are all so butthurt about the focus not being Naruto all the time you seem to be forgetting that part of what makes a good story is rich characterization. And since Naruto isn't around Sasuke, he gets some more screen time.

This is like when people used to complain about loot ninja in WoW. They see the 3 times it doesn't go to the right person and not the 297 times it did.

 

That's a pretty terrible analogy, Wildfeather, if only because you pulled the ratio of 3:297 completely out of nowhere. Its also pretty bizarre on the grounds that you're comparing a story to loot stealing in a video game. I would think that most of us here on DLP have a fairly good understanding of how plots, pacing, and character development work, so you come across as more condescending than anything. When the titular character is in an earth shattering battle against the current Big Bad and resolving long standing plot threads concerning far reaching issues for the story world and said character, it is probably not the right time to focus on a new character building thread for a different character.

I'm hoping that this chapter is actually the wrap up to the Sasuke/Itachi scene, and we'll break away to see Naruto next chapter and the end of the Kage battle before we return to Sasuke and Orochimaru, who really has no chance whatsoever of stealing Sasuke's body at this point unless he has way more tricks up his voluminous sleeves than we've seen so far.

This situation is nothing like that nor will it ever be(barring the fact that your reference piece and event are horribly incorrect as well) Since this isn't GOOD characterization. It's Kishimoto jerking off the Sasuke Fanthings so they can spew wads of cash and profits at him.

What's this, Orochimaru has Sage Chakra now? Well apparently anyone with a fucking Summoning Contract can become a sage with a bit of time and effort. I can't wait to see Kakashi the Butt Sniffing Sage, and Gai the Turtle Sage, I bet cleaning up the slime from Slug Sage Mode is a bitch.

Somewhat off Topic: Fem!Sasuke, does anyone else think that's a barrel of laughs just waiting to be tapped in fanfiction? Moody, Self Centered, Vague, changing his mind constantly... Sasuke acts more like a woman than a lot of the women in this manga do (Sexism intended, since it's Kishi and almost all the interesting/strong female characters are never seen again). It'd be perfect!

 

Whats even more annoying is that in chapter 579, Kabuto explicitly says that Orochimaru could NOT use Sage Chakra, and that Kabuto had surpassed Orochimaru by mastering Sage Mode.

 

I have my doubts how much of it is Kishi's mistakes and how much is intentional misdirection, but simple explanation is that Kabuto is unaware of some trick that Oro still has up his sleeve. Like when he thought he was improving Edo, but it could be that his master simply was aware of dangers of giving them too much freedom.

 

I've hated this whole 'Snake Sage' thing since it first showed up. I had liked that each major summoning contract seemed to have its own ultimate weapon. For monkeys, Enma's Diamond Staff transformation. For snakes, the Kusanagi sword (maybe?). And for toads, Sage Mode. It gave a unique top-tier Kage-level ability for each contract. Besides, if when you mess up with natural energy you turn into a toad statue, shouldn't that be a pretty good indicator of a toads-only ability?

I liked this chapter. Finally Sasuke gets some depth beyond “hurr kill murder hate durr“, and Orochimaru is my favorite villain.

 

i REALLY don´t understand how O was revided. he said he saw the whole scene from within ankos seal because it held part of his consciousness. shouldn´t that imply that he was able to spy on all of kohoha from "within" her?

someone made the horcrux comparison, but that can´t be it either because he apparantly knew everything about everyone that there was to know at this point. if it was like a horcrux this version of him coming out of the snake... (another sentence i didn´t expect to ever form) should be from the point in time of him creating ankos seal, like tom riddle in the chamber of secrets?

It's possible. It could be why he didn't kill her during the Chuunin Exams and it could have been useful for when he was setting up his invasion. Though he might not have even been aware of this function.

This Orochimaru has been inside Anko. He was aware of everything that she knew; getting information both from the Konoha ninja and Allied Forces as well as from Kabuto and Tobi during their talks.

That was the original Orochimaru. He's still sealed away. We've already seen with Kushina and Minato that chakra can contain a person's consciousness and stored away. This is a copy or reincarnation or whatever.

Orochimaru's the new Desty Nova.

Sword of Totsuka was so stupidly powerful that Kishi decided to stupidly handwave it away to bring Orochimaru back. The only character who ends up getting shit on by it is Nagato. Nuts.

So, every cursed seal contains a bit of Orochimaru's consciousness, and with a proper application of Orochimaru's chakra, you can basically bring that consciousness back to life? This chakra thing makes no sense at all to me.

Anyways, I liked the chapter. Orochimaru and Sasuke working together is interesting.

 

I wonder - now that's Oro is back, does that mean there is a chance that we will also see Jiraiya's return? He's the person I think should have a final fight with the Snake.

 

God I hope not. Jiraiya's death was one of the few that had any impact in the series that actually lasted. If he gets brought back as well, who are we gonna have left on the "actually dead" list? Sarutobi? Feh.

 

And most of Akatsuki and most of the Jinchuuriki.
