I always assumed he died from something to do with the battle with Madara and/or the Kyubi getting sealed into Mito.

Yeah... You're better off applying the real world definition of Ninja to Naruto. Applying actual science to Naruto is, ahem, ludicrous at best. And I'm being polite.

I'm still going to laugh at you either way.
    This ain't Science-pull Asimov.
    This is Ass-Pull Kishimoto.

I'm pretty sure that eventually you could find the science behind Naruto, but who has that many years to waste on it?

The better question is, what is the bloody point in doing such a thing?

There is a difference between applying logic and applying science. Even in Naruto, there are logical parameters to the abilities of the ninjas.

I think the point is more to fit some kind of framework of 'how things work' and 'what you can do' to it, rather than to find scientific explanations. If people want to write stories without having to give someone the stupid ball then they need to explain some of the weird things Kishimoto's magic system or characters do or don't do.

Whether or not Kishimoto put much thought into it, there's still a case for finding the logical limits of the canon system.

There are some places where the plot holes might be too big to reconcile with anything and you can just ignore them but otherwise, if you want to stick as close to the canon universe as possible, it's necessary to work out how the canon universe works! That's especially true if you want to make new things in the spirit of Kishimoto's existing 'magic.'

The core of Kishimoto's ninjutsu is Onmyōton or the ability to create form for dreams, and then breath life into that form. So basically, with ninjutsu it is possible to change the laws of the universe if you have enough power and chakra control.

That being said, there couldn't be any logical limits of the Naruto canon system.

Hey, does anyone know was Kushina brought to Konoha before or after destruction of Uzushiogakure no Sato? I didn't find clear answer in manga and don't have any databooks.

Now that's an interesting question. Where the hell are all Senju if not long ago they were just as numerous as Uchiha? Kishimoto probably killed most of them the same way he did with Hashirama.

Weren't the senju featured when they were fighting the Juubi when everyone was spamming attacks on it? Like the Senju were specifically named.

Considering that Kushina grew up during a war but was actually sent to Konoha, I believe she left before Uzushio was destroyed. The Uzumaki Clan were destroyed along with it and the survivors were scattered across the continent.

Personally, I think the Senju Clan was dissolved sometime after Konoha was founded. Rather than remaining as a clan, they just became a part of the village. We know Hashirama thought that the village would "desegregate all the clans and they'd all live happily ever after" which I think backs up that idea. He could have officially disbanded the clan and integrating them into the rest of the village, to act as an example for all the other clans. The fact that Tsunade is never called a Senju could be because they stopped using the name after the clan was disbanded.

Thats... Lame as hell and unbelievable too. There should at least be 1 notable Senju if they survived in the Village. We don't see any :/

Mm... I actually agree with knight504. There is no other sound explanation.

    Tsunade is notable Senju.

I figure having the Senju integrate themselves with the rest of the Konoha raised the overall talent/potential of their ninja force. They don't identify themselves as that anymore and never had distinctive abilities (Hashirama being a unique freak of nature) so you wouldn't be able to tell.

Yeah, and we know how Tobirama told Sasuke that all clans should be watched by ANBU, especially Uchiha. So my guess is that Senju were already disbanded before his reign.
