Yeah, but since pretty much every chapter released this year sucked, I'm starting to get used to it.

Suigetsu controlling that giant wave was cool, as was Naruto using Sage chakra. Eight-tails using little Kyuubi's ball-beam not so much.

I have a theory on the rapport Killer Bee (and presumbly Yugito) have. Basically by co-operating they're let out every so often, in their full forms, to 'stretch their muscles' so to speak. After all, the first time we saw Killer Bee he was doing his complete transformation in the middle of the night, for no discernable reason.

I've actually been impressed by Kishi... these last few chapters have been pretty good. Sasuke's getting owned (for once) and we actually get to see another Jinchuuriki do more than get captured and die.

Sage chakra and frog transformation is cool, too.

What kind of fox has nine tails? He's making this shit up as he goes along, there's no other explanation. Either that or he read that stupid Groundhog Day rip off fic and decided a somewhat believable eight-tails would be worthless.

I don't see why Kishimoto didn't have the dignity to have everyone already be at a power level over nine thousand after the time skip. I also don't see why he felt to need to cut almost every single character, at this point, for the most part, out of the story. It's not just how he's telling the story, the very premise he's using now is horrible. I don't see why he created the diverse world and cast he did if all he's going to do with it is have two characters progressively reached the next level of Super Saiyan. I'm hoping that he ends it soon so I can rest in peace knowing how it ends after the four hundred chapters I subjected myself to, but then I think that it's such a waste to throw everything away like that, without any sense of closure for the rest of the characters.

And to think that this was actually a entertaining, even if in varying degrees, story up until the Valley of the End. Three hundred chapters later we see the train wreck that the author managed to make out of an at least decent, if not great, series. But I guess if the masses take it then there's no real reason to improve. I just wish that Kishimoto would find his sense of morality again and return the story to what it was at its roots so I'm not so tempted to tear my eyes out as he goes on with the series. Or, if that's not possible, finish with a bang.

    /end obligatory complaint

Last chapter sucked. Has been said before, but at that quality, it's not really possible to say it too much, is it? Hopefully it picks up after all of this training is over.

Incidentally, has Naruto shown anything he's learned at all from Jiraiya? Other than his Kyuubi form, I can't remember a single result of his training. From a guy who accomplished a supposedly impossibly difficult task in about the time span of a week. Like before, if Jiraiya just taught him these skills and he was just hiding them for the time being from some reason ala the deus ex machina, I think that the series would be both much more logical and a lot more entertaining.

Naruto was able to overcome Genjutsu and had an upgraded version of the Rasengan, from memory. But, yeah, that was a pretty big disappointment, especially when the Kage Bushin super training could've been done for the three years instead.

I think that the main problem with the improved Rasengan is that he uses it about once, and proceeds to completely outclass it in nowhere near the time it took to learn it. I mean, I guess that the whole Kage Bunshin routine sort of justifies it, but it wouldn't make sense that one of the greatest ninja, as far as the story is concerned, to have ever lived would, firstly, not know about the technique, and, secondly, only have managed to help Naruto improve a single technique in three years of private tutoring. I'm kind of wondering if Kishimoto actually bothers to even think about his plot devices at this point of his popularity. After the time skip, the characters just look different; they act the same, they fight the same, they think the same. Very slight, insignificant changes to wow dedicates over the progress the characters have made.

Is anyone other than me annoyed that almost none of the original characters from before have any role in the story at the moment?

They didn't really have any significance BEFORE the timeskip either, don't you know?

Team 8, Hinata has almost no speaking lines, barely any back story. Kiba and Shino have even less.

Team 10, Chouji and Ino are barely explained, Shikamaru has no backstory but has a few combat scenes.

Team Gai, Lee and Tenten (who?) have nothing, Neji has the most backstory of any non-Team 7 rookie, but is discarded after Naruto beats him (sure he fights the spider guy, but that hardly changed anything).

Asuma, Kurenai, Anko, Gai, etc. barely explained, hardly any significance to the story. Nothing like Kakashi.

Gaara was kinda like "Hey guyz, what's goin' on?" yeah who cares about Sunagakure? I mean, it wouldn't be interesting at all to learn about how it's different from Konoha. Kishimoto didn't even WANT to try and use any more Jinchuuriki as characters. He killed them all off so quick it was pathetic.

It's always been about Team 7 and the Sannin. Akatsuki is a joke, the members die off the chapter they're introduced. No one else matters, Kishi won't start giving any of the other characters any more screen time than they've gotten.

Now, Naruto would be fuck awesome if Kishimoto spent some time developing Hinata, Tenten, Shikamaru, et cetera, but why should he? Since the beginning of P2 it's become more and more obvious that Kishimoto has gotten sick of his manga, he probably wants to start a new story with new characters. He's not going to try and stretch out what he's got.

The nine tailed fox is a Japanese Myth.
    It's also a Pokemon.

My point is that a lot of it is from myth. Some of it is pulled from his ass, though.

I hope the Raikage shows up. We know 3 of the 5 Kage; Tsunade, Gaara and Madara. They are slowly being revealed. I think by the time the series ends we will have been introduced to all the Kage.

Madara is not a Kage. We only know TWO Kage, Gaara and Tsunade. Madara leads Akatsuki which is in Ame, Which is not a major power. Kumo=Raikage, Iwa=Tsuchikage, Kiri=Mizukage, Suna=Kazekage, Konoha=Hokage. Only the five major powers are allowed the title of Kage.

Madara is the Mizukage. Pain runs Ame. At least that's what I gathered when Kisame called Madara Mizukage-sama.

I think its most likely he just killed the Mizukage and took power, And Kisame is just patronizing the position.

WRONG! Madara is the Kage of Kiri as Kisame called him so. Pain (and formerly Hanzo) is the leader of Ame. So we have seen three Kages.

EDIT: Spanker beat me to it...
