That still doesn't touch upon the fact that any village of note or decent size will be getting influxes of new people/laborers, meaning that the village will have more than just one person with October 10th as their birthday.

Unless of course that whole line means that nobody is BORN in Konoha on October 10th. Which means, of course, that maybe they LEAVE Konoha to have their child?

yeah, there are gonna be chapters where I don't use Naruto at all. They serve mostly as updates on other parts of the world during the war.

It was still such a tense and exciting chapter that I didn't even notice that Naruto wasn't in it. Lol. Great job on that.

 

Just to let you guys know, I've updated with two new chapters. One rounds out Volume 2 (Chapter 20) and the second begins Volume 3 (Chapter 21).

Things are definitely boiling over. I do wonder though: what does the Hidden Leaf think about the imminent destruction of Sand? Is the Leaf at all concerned? Will they reinforce the Sand?

Excellent. I'm losing track of the plot a little, though I've been reading one chapter at a time. There's the war, Orochimaru, Unity, and Akatsuki, but I'm not sure who's allied with who.

 

Unity's goals are there own, they might be allied with some people but they will eventually move so that they can conquer every nation and put the world under one government.

I'm guessing Akatsuki's is similar to what it is in the manga, get the bijuu and create mass destruction (and to borrow a thought from MGS4) and bring everyone down to 0. A restarting point where everyone is equal.

Orochimaru just wants to fuck over Konoha and he's not really allied with anyone that we know of, but he's getting his Shinin off the ground as force multipliers considering the stage 2 ones are just about as good as Naruto. Which would be an indicator at how troublesome they'd be to a majority of Konoha's ninja.

But I would caution you to remember that Akatsuki's plans are not the same as Pain's True Plans.

 

Could I ask who's on who's side in the war, both ninja and daimyo? Also, will we get some more Kurenai/Kiba action? I'm assuming that the loss of Sakura and Sasuke has changed her character enough that she isn't going to end up with Asuma.

I'll go ahead and say this now.

The only way I'll actually appreciate the inclusion of Unity in this story is if Madara is the head of it. World domination seems like it could be his thing, so I think it works.

Most importantly though - this is the Naruto world. An organization like Unity has to have some very powerful folks at its head, and I'm just not interested in reading about super!OC characters. The Naruto world is fairly secular and it doesn't make sense to me that a whole horde of super ninja running Unity that just came out of nowhere would exist.

I realize that when Altered History began we didn't know much about Akatsuki at all, but frankly I think this story would be better in the end by not deviating so far from canon that it's unrecognizable.
