About "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For":
Three more chapters have been published, and it totally sucks. I'm saddened to say that the author seems to focus on nothing but the Jedi-bashing. Harry is a dick, too, and it was hard for me to even finish reading it. The writing is lacking, and it feels like nothing has happened at all (despite 80k words).
So, if you haven't begun reading it yet, I wouldn't bother to do so now.
There are far too few good HP/SW crossovers

 

I agree it is somewhat more about bashing than anything else. The problem is I quite agree with it. Never really liked the Jedi attitude, and what they did to Ahsoka was beyond stupid. (Not to mention Revan.) I think it'S still too early to judge the story, it's extremely at the beginning.

 

Her other fic is at 200k+ words and even that still feels too early to judge, so it's just the way she writes.

I don't mind the bashing, but the way it's done involves so much shit that does nothing for plot progression and is just there to facilitate bashing, which does not make a good story.

She could probably lop off a good 30k words without changing the way a single thing in the story is perceived, because it's all repetition at this point.

 

It's not exceptional but I am enjoying the story.

 

There are better time wasting fics but this one keeps me mildly entertained. Mostly I just want to see Harry lay Asoka and Aayla though.

 

I'm more interested about Harry's backstory here. There are these vibes that he's seen a *lot* which might mean he has been around alone for a very long time. He also seems to have some objective finding something/information but we don't know what this is really about. Not really a fan of the whole foreshadowed harem tripe and the Gary Stu act isn't good for creating future tension/dramaturgy.

P.S. Wouldn't be surprised if he's the shadow "boss" of the Bounty Hunter union which gave "himself" the license to pretend to be one. At least that could be hinted at during the first Jedi meeting discussing his strange Bounty Hunter application

Hm, although the abandonment is extreme and the posting of the chapter was kinda asking for it, it's still no excuse for personal threats.
But that's the problem with anonymity of the internet- you can't expect decency from anyone.

 

Hah, nice. I'm glad I stopped reading that story awhile back when Harry became irredeemable in his quest to create a body for the voice in his head.

I think it was about the time he decided the kill Ginny in order to save the Diary because he thought it might help him.

Edit: I skipped to the last couple of chapters. It didn't look like a joke to me. It looked like the author got sick of writing it and decided to kill Harry off for a reunion with that voice.

To be had, from what I read, Harry dying was probably the happy ending, seeing as he'd probably kill many more people to get what he wanted.

 

I dropped the story for the same reasons.

It's been a while since I've ead the story but didn't it have a very creepy Harry checking out an unconscious naked Ginny before he killed her?

 

Yeh I can't believe someone that's building a body for Voldemort would check out a naked girl who was unconscious. Grounds to never read the story again.

 

Hahahaha that's hilarious. I stopped following that story ages ago because literally nothing was happening, but I'm tempted to go read it now just to see this.

I'll go read like the last 3 chapters, that should be enough for me to get a good grasp of everything that happened in the 15 or so I missed, given my memory of the authors writing style.

 

I haven't even taken a look at this fic before, but that last chapter is fucking hilarious.

Was the story any good?

On a somewhat related note, I remember reading a naruto fan fiction back in the day where the author claimed to have cancer and be dying. Later turns out he just couldn't be bothered to write anymore and felt like he needed an excuse. The internet is a strange place sometimes.

 

At least people would know for sure that the story was abandoned I guess. The anticipation can be a killer.

 

Hardly unrealistic but you can scarcely blame someone for finding that uncomfortable to read.

 

Honestly if not for the random Daphne pregnancy it wasn't an awful end to the fic. Too sudden for sure, but I wouldn't have had much issue with it if it was drawn out some more with a greater focus on the hunt for Sirius.

I can't see the fic ever being interesting if it plays out any other way, if Harry got a body for Violet the main premise would kind of be fulfilled but it wouldn't end the fic, so the rest would be kind of pointless/boring.

 

Yeah that's why I said if it was drawn out some more and the whole Sirius thing was made to feel more like a finale.

It's just that I felt most of the other ways the fic could go wouldn't be that interesting really. Once he got Violet a body the main plot of the fic would just be over and the story never felt very Voldemort focused so it wouldn't be that good to read beyond that.
