It appears that a suitable director might finally find his way to the
    Harry Potter movies
A director that won't change hogwarts every fucking film,or hire shitty actors,or give it a fluffy feel for babies, etc.

this could be a step in the right direction or just another pitfall

    your thoughts?

    This just tells me:

    1. There will be more changes in the movies.
    2. Warner Bros realise they fucked up 4 times already.

In that thing you call a closet. Better watch out,
Bah, they change directors like Hogwarts changes Defense against the Dark Arts professors.

He is a good director but a Harry Potter film is not for him. What people like best about his movies is the surprises and there are no surprises in a Harry Potter film at least for the people that read the books. For that reason I don't think he will ever direct any of the films.

Wow, they're really going for the darker crazy angle aren't they? While he certainly has his good movies, I can't imagine him keeping to the plot. He seems like the type that will edit out and re-arrange for artistic license. Its like they are looking for directors who will give the Potter films the darker edge JKR insists are in the newer books through the filming instead of the plot. Could you imagine him trying to direct book 6 in all its fluffy-ness?

Of course. He would completly ignore the scenes where Harry figures that Snape's an evil bastard so when he kills Dumbles it will be a 'twist.'

I read an interview with him, and he said that although he likes the idea of it he wants to adapt a book to film first, so I doubt he will direct one. Personally, I think he's all wrong for a harry potter film; but Terry Gilliam, who has also been approahed for one of the last two films, would just simply rock. I love him and his films.

My vote's for Terry. M. Knight has pissed me off too much with his last two films for me to have confidence that he'll do anything worth writing home to my mamma about with OTP.
