hm. I can't get the page to load... I'm rather new to this chat thingy.. my old computer I wouldn't even dare try it on, so I never bothered. Tell me, do I need to do more than insert "irc.darklordpotter.net" into the address bar? Because I'm truly ignorant. *sheepish*

 

just clicking on the IRC link above will bring you in, you shouldn't have to do anything else.

Make sure java is enabled, and you're not blocking popups. Popup blocking can happen in the browser, in adblocking/spyware blocking programs on your PC, and in your firewall.

 

Can anyone help me?

On Java Applet:

I've got the following filled out:

Address: irc.darklordpotter.net

Username: Amerision

Nickname: Amerision


But I get this is the status box:

when you're done, hit change, click the check box under perform buffer, then type in that box /join #darklordpotter

Hit save settings, then hit connect and a window should pop up

As for the applet, unless you're firewall is blocking popups, or java, there's no reason it shouldn't work. Do you see the popup box asking if you wish to run the applet when you click on the IRC Chat link?

 

Did it all, shut down the firewall as well.

No change.

 

hrm... maybe your router's not letting it out if you use a network, other wise, I've no idea why you wouldn't be able to from multiple sources.

 

These are the settings that I have in Trillian. They work ok for me.

I'm working from a new computer now and the link to the IRC chat won't work for me, so I downloaded mIRC. Only problem I now have is actually understanding the hoe the program works. Help is more than welcome.
