I tried this a while ago and stopped reading it after few first chapters. Seemed like another one of those AU stories that follow the JKR books scene by scene, only with Harry being more powerful. I've had enough of those for a lifetime.

Does it get better later on?

 

Ye, but so far it don’t really follow hp1. There is an even more powerful dark lord(300 years old) in this story. Voldemort is supposed to be nothing compared to this one.

 

It's not the most exciting to read it, but it's ok and interesting.

 

I've just read through all the chapters and yes, it does get better.

Some things were really interesting, like bringing back to life that "Slytherin dweeb" character and unexpected twist during the sorting.

Still, some things were unbelieveably bad, like Rosswrock's trunk and "fast" friendship with Ron. Also, that whole bashing thing seems to have fallen out of the sky. Like the author had changed her mind in middle of the story and turned Ron and Dumbledore into twits.

But I guess it was OK read in the end. Too bad it seems abandoned.

 

im on chapter 5 and im contemplating giving it up because it is so blatantly full of americanisms

horribly so, its like he speaks 2 sentences with Ron, and is being invited to go round diagon alley with the weasleys, then he speaks about 4 sentences with mrsweasley and he is being invited to stay for the rest ofthe summer.

 

eh...nvm reading the story then lol.

 

Yeah, it's pathetic.

And later, the author changes his/hers mind, and Ron is instantly like turned into a complete jerk...

To me, it was one of those stories I just liked the beginning of. Had potential, so I reviewed and encouraged the writer to write more despite the lack of reviews. Next thing I know I'm stuck reading it becuase the author "appreciates my helpful comments and looks forward to hearing more from me" and I'd feel bad if I laughed and said "not fucking likely"!

I stopped reading shortly after the sorting while thier updates lagged some. I was finally able to break the chain of obligative reviews! But yeah, the beginning isn't that bad.

Or maybe I'm just even worse at searching than usual.

Still sounds like something that should be removed from the Library, at least based on old comments.

 

Story was deleted off of FFN anyway.

 

Can't say it's a big loss. From what I remember of it, the fic depended on so many worn-out tropes that it felt more like a list than a story.
