Something is missing. The forested planet where Kylo meets Rey isn't in my opinion the same place where Finn fights Kylo. It's probably the ice planet where the final battle against the First Order is going to happen. I would say that the forest meeting will be just a short battle like the fight with Maul on Tatooine.

 

Then I wonder why you didn't include any mentions of characters like (spoilers just to be safe I guess)

Maz Kanata or Supreme Leader Snoke, what Leia is doing, the ice planet Starkiller Base (as Celestin mentions), etc.

Not sure if it's a conscious decision or an oversight.

Snoke - I don't think we're going to see much of Snoke at all in this first movie, and maybe not even that much in the second. I think we'll just have one scene with him in - the one where he's giving a speech to a load of Stormtroopers.

Maz Kanata - I imagine she's going to appear in the "quest for Luke" part of the story. Someone with information they meet along the way. Again, just one or two scenes.

Leia - from all indications it looks like she's leading the Resistance.

Ice planet/Starkiller - I think the forest is on the ice planet. The scene with Finn igniting a lightsaber is in a forest where it is snowing. Still not sure if the Starkiller base is a weapon or an engine. I lean towards the latter - it's an engine big enough to move a planet, and the entire planet is the base.

 

For these that want to avoid spoilers I would advise to avoid new Entertainment Weekly photos. At least one of them may be giving away a partial reason why Finn left the First Order.

 

And there is extended TV spot that has a short scene that got me wondering about Rey.

Unless it was two different scenes put together, she's slowly entering the room where the Resistance is meeting. There she's seeing Leia's back and the look on her face suggests she's recognizing this person. Which is fine since many suspect they're mother and daughter. Yet at the same time the way it was presented suggest to me that she didn't see Leia for years. Add that to rumors that she actually grew up on the planet where Finn meets her and I simply can't see Leia leave her daughter alone there, even for her own safety.

My theory? Since it's 40 years since the last movie, it gives us enough time to have two generations and she's Leia's granddaughter. That's why Rey is unsure when she sees Leia in that scene. She barely remember her from her childhood when her grandmother was visiting her parents who were hiding for her safety. Then something happened and Leia isn't even aware that Rey is now alone, but when the First Order gets too close to the planet she sends Han to pick her (their? I'm actually unsure if Han will be the grandfather) family.

It is 30 years (from the official press release or w/e). Not enough time for that. Also it's been confirmed (via an Entertainment Weekly article with Daisy Ridley) that she has been living on Jakku since she was 5.

The exact quote: "Finn and Rey may not look alike, but their commonalities far outweigh their differences. Both are essentially war orphans. He was a child soldier, bred to wear the white armor of a stormtrooper and fight and die, if necessary, on behalf of the First Order. She was abandoned at age 5 on the desert world of Jakku, and has been waiting ever since to be reclaimed. “There was no one really guiding her,” Ridley says. “She’s never sat around a table and had a meal with someone else. She works to feed herself, and she goes to sleep, and she gets up again. It is a sad life.”

Right, 30 years. I blame J.J. for my mistake because he said it's nearly 40 years in one of his latest interviews. That's said, if Rey is in any way related to Leia there must be a twist to it. No chance she would be just abandoned when she was 5.

 

At this point I have two theories:

1. She is Kylo Ren's sister.

2. She is unrelated to anyone important, and this was Abram's way of both Trolling us and getting people to talk about the Movie.

Well, it was good when it lasted. With all trailers and TV spots released there is probably no major action scene that wasn't somehow teased.

For people who want to avoid spoilers, don't check soundtrack track list. It may be confirming some big rumors and giving away basic structure of the movie.

I read somewhere that Disney is apparently casting tons of actors to play the role of a young Han Solo. How true is that?

Why would they do that, if it's true? Does anyone know anything?

 

Probably a stand alone origins movie.

 

Like there is going to be a side story next year called "Rebel One", there's going to be a Han Solo origin story, and then another side story after that. So six SW movies in all over the next few years. Disney learned that over-saturation is best when dealing with a popular market, ala MCU.

I meant auditioning a lot, yes. I don't think they're planning a multiverse Han Solo meetup of any sort.
