I expect a magical Indiana Jones who will be way cooler than Harry ever was and a much more interesting character than Harry. But I feel the lack of main villian will be a draw back.

 

There is no characterisation. I don't know what WB will be able to pull out of a mere name and a tie-in book that reads more like a dictionary.

 

Anything they like, obviously.

On the other hand, Daphne Greengrass was just a name once upon a time. Perhaps Newt will be a canonical ice...king?

 

Fanfiction has blown up some characters using just names from canon before. At least there is some real knowledge on Newt (He wrote a book on magical creatures), this is already more knowledge than was ever given on Daphne Greengrass I believe.
