I agree with you zero. While I still like Team 8 because its extremely well writen, which is a plus in all fandoms, it is a reused plot, but compared to some, not by much. At least it has a very reasonable explanation for why Naruto is put on Team 8, instead of him just randomly being put on it just so the author can do a NaruHina story without having to do too much explaination. NTS on the otherhand, it has a mostly original plot, because coming in contact with Kyuubi at a young age has been used before, but basically everything else is new. What I liked about the new chapter, at tleast what I have read so far, was the fight scene and that small explaination on why Naruto and Kyuubi dont do the collective conciousness thing, the dont know how. In many fics, Kyuubi knows some obscure jutsu that requires 30000+ handseals, including ones that Naruto doesn't know, and yet they still miraculously pul the whole thing off. Now, when I get home from school, I will finish the chapter, so except another post in here from me then.

 

That's one thing I hate in many stories: Kyuubi knowing a shitload of human jutsus and basically being able to be Naruto's sensei. He's a damned demon and virtually a destruction avatar. Why in the HELL would he know all this stuff about human shinobi combat. The fox has no need to know jutsus. It's ridiculous.

I agree with what you said about kyuubi and im liking the way this is going. Should be even more interesting with Oro comes in.

Will any of the other Akatsuki be making much of a appearance? Even though there hasnt been much about them i'm pretty sure Sasori wanted to kill Orochimaru...because he was his old partner i think.

 

They might show up at some point. Yeah, Orochimaru is on Akatsuki's shit list in this story. That's why Itachi tipped off Naruto about the impending attack, to see the snake's plot turned against him and to hopefully borrow Konoha's hand in killing him. I'm not sure about romance. Anko...probably not, I don't think they would work well as lovers. Kurenai seems to be a more suitable choice (I can work with the age gap), and I've been starting to turn into a bigger Naruto/Tenten supporter lately also. We'll see what happens down the line, if anything.

 

Are you going to have Naruto train with the sword he recently acquired? That would be awesome and if yes, who would you get to train him?

 

A truly excellent story. At the moment, it's my favorite Naruto fanfiction. ^_^

 

Its a good story, for what i've read, but for some really messed up reason I have a hard time reading your fics, it feels like im being forced to, and not sure why.. sigh.

Just read it. I thought it was interesting that you said in your author notes that you think (your) Naruto and Tenten would probably have similar interests. Kishimoto has close to nothing in the way of character development for Tenten, so I hope you can fill in the blanks for the rest of us with something cool.

Oh, and a nitpick: Sannin isn't a rank or an offical power level or anything like that. It literally means the "three nins", specifically referring to Jiraya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru - the legendary trio. I noticed it's misuse when Naruto busted out with the "Youmakagure" line (which was funny). Someone's probably bitched at you about it by now, but I'm just throwin' it in as something I noticed.

So yeah, I'm pretty much enjoying the story! Looking forward to the Chunnin Exam.

 

Sadly, I know enough Japanese that I should not have made such a blunder with the term 'sannin.' I could go back and fix it easily enough, but I intended it to be a backhanded slam on Orochimaru, so I probably will leave it as is.

As for Tenten, I think we do know some things about her even if she doesn't have a defined personality in canon. She seems to take her training very seriously, as she believes that kunoichi are no less than their male counterparts and aspires to be as strong as Tsunade. She seems to be intelligent without being filled with useless knowledge or snotty about it (like say, Sakura). She, like this Naruto, wants recognition for her skills, as she feels somewhat slighted on a team where one member is a prodigy renowned through the village and the other is the instructor's personal apprentice. She has to deal with the kunoichi stereotype in the same way that Naruto has to deal with the demon stigma. She also doesn't look the type to obsess over her looks.

 

I've been following your fic; and so far, so good.
The only thing that I wonder about is, where will the story go after the chunin exam, if Sasuke will not defect from Konoha?
Oh, and by the way, I think the manga sucks right now and the anime is full of shitty fillers.

 

Like Myst, i like some of your ideas, but i have a hard time reading it. Oh, and i disagree with those who said Team 8 was cliche. The whole Hyuuga/Kurenai Tension, Shino slowly asking his Parents what's the deal with Naruto, and Naruto coming out of his shell is extremely well done, and a well done cliche is no longer a cliche, IMO.

Back to the topic, Your idea on Tenten is rather interesting, and i am glad you didn't have the Kyuubi knowing Jutsus, that would have been...a bit much.

Anyway, this story goes right up there with Foxhound, Never Cut Twice and Bloodlines, though Bloodlines is going to hell these days...

Well, back to your story, I like how Naruto is portrayed as a believably powerful shinobi and not some god-like dude who blows up everything by looking at it. Wouldn't mind a pairing, I'm personally rooting for Ino/Naruto but that's probably cause I just read Foxhound again.

Oh, I have a pairing in mind, but it's one nobody save the people I've told in the IRC room will suspect. I'll say this, it won't be anybody from Konoha. That wouldn't work out, as Naruto won't be in the village for much longer. Things will happen that will result in his leaving soon after the Chuunin Exams.

 

Tayuya? Temari? Deidara? Those would probably be my guesses...

Anyway, just as an after-thought; will Naruto learn the Suiton: Suiryuudon technique? Just asking as it my favorite Jutsu (No, I'm not asking you to add that part just for me -_-)
