Are there any decent Naruto fics that don't feature Naruto as a main character? Having read the girl from Whirlpool I was wondering if there were other similar stories available.

Anything featuring the older generations of Konoha would be good or maybe one that focused on other Naruto's contemporaries in the other villages. I'd be particularly interesting in reading something featuring Gaara.

Cleaning no Jutsu isn't half bad.

 

Ascendant Itachi-centric time-travel to his past, before he kills his clan. Enjoyable.

Air and Darkness Shikamaur/Temari shipfic that is comedic and cute.

Time Braid Sakuracentric, time loop for chunnin exams. Features love, lust, rather ineresting uses of mental gymnastics, and supposedly crosses over with Oh My Goddess, but i've never seen that show so I can't coment. Highly controversial on this site, but I think its good. and complete.

as far as gaara? I got nothing.

 

Yeah time braid was something I could never really get into, but I think that had more to do with the fact that I find Sakura alongside Hinata to be the least interesting characters in the manga.

The others look pretty good though so thanks.

 

The First Shifting Grain
Sabaku no Gaara lands in the past to a time where everyone feared him and his father was still alive. He realises this will force him to regain everyones trust when they still think he's a blood-thirsty psychopath. Time-Travel.No pairing.

Time travel Gaara, I remember it being pretty decent, but I can't for the life of me come up with any details or things that make it stand out, so it's probably fairly meh.

Ascendant was great, easily one of the better things i've read recently.
Air and Darkness didn't read too much so far, but its alright. Not really my thing though.
Torikaeru is one of those stories that i'll end up reading in stages, up to ten so far.
The First Shifting Grain was good, I enjoyed what there was, shame there was so little though.

Better to Honour remains one of my favorites, if only because it's got Danzo not being an insane lunatic who wants to destroy the village like most stories feature him.

Out of the Sakura ones, loyalty wasn't bad. The others aside from Dead Garden I couldn't really get into, but i'll be the first to admit Sakura isn't someone I care for that much.

It's a re write of one of his earlier stories, but its enjoyable enough for what it is. He also wrote one of the few Akatsuki! Naruto stories I found worth reading if anyone wants something like that. It's no Houses of the Holy, but decent enough for a Kisame trained Naruto who's bros with Gaara. it's complete too.
