Well, as I said in the review I left last night, including a warning doesn't shield him from legitimate criticism.

There are certainly people who enjoy so called 'dark' stories with 'grim and gritty' scenarios, who would still find themselves disappointed with this story's approach.

It is more than possible that some readers might shrug off the warning, accepting that such subject matter is often part of a decently written dark story, but still be offended by the way the situations they were warned of were handled when they finally came about.

Ham-fisted was, I believe, the term I used.

Harry has plenty of motivation to go off the deep end already, so if the idea behind raping Hermione was to give him a reason to lose it, it's criminally unnecessary, and if it was to give her a similar impetus, an attempted rape (during which she endured a severe beating) would have served the same purpose as what was written.

Anything else is being vulgar for the sake of vulgarity.

Then there's the addition of the multiple rapes of Romilda (which culminated in her death) and the string of nameless 'cannon fodder' muggles who have been raped and murdered so far...

It's gratuitous and smacks of an author simply trying to shock the readers by making something as offensive as possible, while ignoring any real, quality writing.

One does not write a 'dark' story by simply throwing as many rapes at the audience as they possibly can. In this respect, the story has been very one-note so far.

When you consider that he also wrote the Screams series (despite the decline in quality of the most recent installments), this becomes even more disappointing.

This story made my eyes bleed and my soul wish I had been aborted all those years ago. One dimensional characters combine with a shitty plot. The result is an all too predictable fail.
