1. Goku doesn't learn to fly until WELL into Dragonball. He hitches a ride with Bulma (in a HOVER car by the way, not shitty 20th century cars; THIS IS THE FUTURE) or uses the Nimbus.

2. Goku is a kid when he fights Piccolo for the first time.

3. Krillian is kinda important.

4. There is a talking turtle, a perverted martial arts teacher.

5. Besides for Kamehameha, Dodon, and Tri-Beam, there really aren't any energy attacks until DBZ.

6. There is no romance between Chichi and Goku, they just get randomly married on a whim.

7. Bluma has blue hair.

8. Goku's hair is way more crazy than that.

I think that covers everything that won't have to do with the plot.

 

Oh god, this looks to be tragic. There is so much wrong with it but the most important parts have already been said. And I concur with the Hitler link. All I can say is that at least Goku has the power pole.

There are many, many animes that can't be adapted to live-action movies. DBZ is one of them.

 

I'm going to find the studio that was involved in this shit along with Fox and shit down the throats of everyone who had something to do with developing this movie. It's a fucking outrage! Anyone who wants to join me, please come along.

My Feelings regarding the live action Dragonball movie can be summed up in just one word:

...why are you all upset? The RAAAAAGE!!!11 displayed implies that you guys actually liked the regular Dragon Ball series. It was a shitty series; it was bound to produce a shitty movie.

Admittedly, the lack of flying is rather strange...did they not see the last 10-20 minutes of Matrix: Revolutions ?

 

The rage, at least on my part, is because DBZ was my gateway anime. I don't know about the others, but I still respect DBZ, and this made my eyes bleed. They didn't even try to stay true, they just seized on an opportunity to make another pitiful sum of money. And I know this is supposed to be just DB, but it's still way off.

 

I was thinking it would be more DBZ than DB. DB was bollocks. DBZ was epic.

 

Exactly. DB completely and utterly failed. If this were a DBZ movie I'd understand the lamenting. I had to force myself to watch a full DB episode, and they're all of 12, Maybe 15, minutes long?

 

They are longer than that. I enjoyed DB more. That had a plot.

 

I grew to hate DBZ with a passion what with a single fight often taking 5 episodes... but for awhile it was a decent funny little cartoon.

This however... is shit. Shit shit shit shit shit.

 

At :50 seconds I think you can see Master Roshi shoot some kind of green energy beam.

 

What are you all so fucking angry about? This isn't the Dragonball Z movie, it's Dragonball.

I am on the verge of slaughtering a schoolyard full of cute lolis and puppies/kittehs. I refuse to see this. Flat out refuse. The should do like the Zelda movie and just have it fan-made so dickhead directors don't fuck it up.

 

There are tons of anime based live action movies coming out.

Dragonball.
Cowboy Bebop.
Akira.
Blood.
Hellsing, just to name a few. There are a ton more but I CBF'd to look them up.

 

Dragonball isn't a masterpiece, hell, it's not even good, but considering how iconic it is, you can't butcher the story and characters like this, it's horrible. If they wanted to do DBZ, they should have done DBZ. DB isn't movie material.

There's no excuse for doing this . I can't even fathom what Goku's dialogue will be like.

 

If they fuck this up someone is going to fucking die. Alucard is one of the badass manga characters ever. Who could actually play him decently?
