It's definitely worth reading. And the best way to do that, is to scroll down a bit, see the top list on the right and side, and just make your way through that. Over time i've actually read all of the entries on the blog, and they almost never fail to amuse.

Some people don't like having tired, shitty memes constantly thrown in our faces.

Reddit is a bigger shithole than 4chan.

 

While I admit that I frequently browse reddit, if you really do believe that you definitely haven't spent enough time on 4chan.

Whether memes are funny or not differs from person to person, as long as I get a slight grin out of reading them I don't exactly consider them a waste of space. And some of us don't have enough time on our hands to follow the daily funny picture submissions to reddit, 9gag and co. That's why I'm glad for the fraction of DLP that posts the best of those submissions here.

If you don't like that then stop reading this thread, really.

If anything I spend too much time on 4chan.

The primary difference, as I see it, between 4chan and Reddit is that 4chan on the whole is very tongue-in-cheek. It's hard to take much seriously on that site. Reddit, however, seems take itself seriously -- to disastrous effect.

Paraphrasing from an archived thread I read once on the subject of Reddit, 4chan is mostly nerds pretending to be idiots, whereas Reddit is made up of idiots pretending to be nerds.

QUICK EDIT: I'm not trying to glorify 4chan or anything here, in case you were getting that impression.

Oh, forgive me for protesting when a significant amount of pictures posted in the Funny Pictures thread just aren't funny.

See that picture above this post? That's not funny. It's "Hurr durr penis joke with shitty MS paint faces that have been stolen and reposted so many times they've lost what meager meaning they had in the first place." Replace those faces with something original and there would be literally NO DIFFERENCE in the punch-line or anything. It would just be a mediocre comic about dicks. The same could be said for the majority of similar comics. Remove those faces and they're just stupid blog posts.

Most of my problem comes from how many there are in this thread. I mean, I can handle one or two of them if they're exceptional. Like that mustache one a few pages back? That was... all right. Probably would have been better without the faces getting in the way, but it wasn't bad. Most of the others though? Just leave it on Reddit or wherever.
