    ...the fuck?

That little shit was one of the top five most annoying NPC's in the game, the very first opportunity I got, I decapitated him and keep the head on a shelf in my Dovakhinn hideout.

All I can think of when I see this guy is George Harrison or Davey Jones.

Anyway, does he ever say any of this on the TV show? So many people keep telling me how funny the show is and every time I've tried watching it, it sucked.

Seriously, there was this one episode I watched where the chick (who's normally pretty hot but looked awful in that episode) broke up with the kid who played David on Roseanne. The Sheldon dude was still hanging out with her, and she and David were arguing about who was gonna do what with him, and you'd better limit his candy, etc.

It was funny for a couple laughs, but the writers insisted on hitting me over the head with it, repeatedly. Have sitcoms always been so unsubtle?

And Sheldon is not funny. He's mildly amusing, but the absolute funniest thing was Wil Wheaton, who stole the show and *almost* made the episode worth watching.

I stopped watching it somewhere in 3rd season, but at first I found it quite funny. It's just that later on, when it started to become more and more popular, the writers stopped laughing with geeks and nerds and started laughing at them. The characters became parody of themselves and jokes started to become more stupid (I stopped watching after the episode where Sheldon is drunk and strips on some award giving ceremony).

Maybe later seasons improved, but from what you described I'm guessing that it didn't.

Yeah, he uses some of those I'm pretty sure, though not positive. He does use a lot of corny pick up lines though. As for the show itself, yes I think it is completely worth it. The caveat to that is that I think it's really best when watching the episodes in order. The characters really do grow on you. For someone like Sheldon I can picture why you wouldn't think he was funny if you had only see an episode or two, but he's by far my favorite character in the show. Season 1 is mediocre, but every season since then has been excellent. It also may just not be to your taste, it happens.

[nitpick] Poly comes from Greek, not Latin. [/nitpick]

Doesn't mean the same things as "poly" though; in Latin, "poli" is one of the inflections of "polus," which means pole (such as the Earth's magnetic pole).

    Many in Latin is "multi."
