I remember starting it and giving up after a couple of chapters. Not badly written, but not very well written either.

 

I read it and it kept me interested for the first 5 or so chapters, but I was never able to finish it.

Came across this, looked kinda interesting, as no one (that I've seen) has done an HP/BoF crossover before. Any thoughts?

 

How does this thread differ from the For Review forum? Except, here you're only getting the opinions of a few people, as opposed to 15-20 at least before it's decided if it's good (in the For Review forum).

The BoF crossover is NOT worth reading. Trust me.

 

I think Echoes of Power has already been/still is posted somewhere. Overall, an ok story. The only beef I have with it is budding Harry/Ginny romance... and even worse, this is one of those Ginnys whose powers and skills will eventually match Harry's, so she could be an equal partner... blah.

 

Didn't that plot device get a death penalty for the author attached to it?

Not a great fic but it has a few moments that made me chuckle (like running naked from Madame Pomfrey while carrying a blushing and fully clothed Professor Sinistra). And we need more Harry/Sinistra fics.

 

Ah, yes, "Owl Treats and Firewhiskey" had some promise to begin with, but after a few chapters, the constantly drunk Harry who is portrayed like some great womanizer started getting on my nerves. It seems this story is written by a teenager who is currently in that phase when you think being drunk is terribly cool and sexy. For the sake of those liking this story, I just hope he finishes it before someone tell the poor kid his friends were laughing at him, not with him.

I guess here you post fics that you HAVEN'T read yet, and are curious if they are worth reading. Not suggest or offer fics for people.

Silly me. I'll check out a fic, skim a few chapters (including the latest) and make that decision on my own. Quite frankly, I'm not sure I'd trust too many DLPers opinions as much as my own impressive skimming talents.

I'll take my beating with the stupid stick and slink away now.

 

I thought that Owl Treats story was amusing at some points, though I agree with ip in that fact that the druken pervert was kind of gettin annoying. Also, I kept wondering when Harry was actually going to use a spell. Swords are cool and all, but it just seemed a little stupid.

 

I liked it until it became apparent Harry would let little kids walk all over him.

Neat concept, though.

 

Story

I wanted to know if it was worth the trouble.

Barely on the first couple of paragraphs and it seemed decent.

Don't bother, its not particularly good and at times is downright boring of the "I'd find death by sentient kitchenwear whilst being brutally raped by Gio more interesting and entertaining than reading this" variety.
