Ditto, I understand they're rowdy (strong digging instinct) and have incredibly pungent Urine (skunk-like in strength), but are a pretty good mix between cat and dog.

Less rowdy, more responsible for much destruction of native wildlife and flora in Australia.

I've had six already, I hate cats, reptiles smell horrible unless you clean them and their cage constantly, I have no interest in fish or insects either and birds are irritating.

Foxes are the only logical answer.

Get a dingo. They're an interesting cross between wolf and dog. Smart as all hell. And if you don't like babies: bonus.

Your mangy dingoes pale in comparison to the cuteness of a fox.

Foxes will kill you. Dogs, not so much. Cats, doubly so.

    Logically...

What's a fox going to do? Bite your ankles to death?

Dogs kill, on average, 26 people per year in the US alone. Even cats kill. Well, just one cat really, with a one-hit-kill technique. http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1P2-5177513.html - No pensioner is safe!

Domesticated foxes do exist, you know. They're probably just rare and/or expensive.

Will page-stretch, but the shrunk version cannot be read. JUST CLICK IT.

On Domesticated Foxes: Actually they do exist, a group in Russia has been breeding them for about 50 years, trying to get it right. They're pretty damned close, but due to funding issues, for the first time, they're now willing to sell the foxes for $8,000 each.

I've done something similar at Christmas a couple of times. Nothing beats that feeling. Nothing.

They make great pets if you have the patience to deal with them but the biggest challenge comes from the fact that they are blindingly smart. My exs mother who lives in Colorado has two and just as a for instance she was used to having dogs before so she assumed if she didn't want them to get a box of treats putting them in the back of a high up cabinet with a heavy door would be enough to keep it from them. She was proven entirely wrong when she came home and found they'd moved shit around so they could jump on it to make it onto the counters and then worked together to pull the door open and grab the treats. Things like that kept happening so often that basically the only way she can keep them out of things in the kitchen is by putting heavy padlocks on all of the cabinet and fridge doors.

Wasn't sure which thread deserved this. It's like a Stark family school supplies trip.
