Miner and I finished our last round of anime, which were Bakemonogatari and Made in Abyss.

Bakemonogatari is a show with 70% filler/irrelevant perversion and 30% plot. I was hoping to be surprised, but it was just some annoying show with its head eagerly up its own ass. The only positives were the snappy dialogue, the creative art direction, and the decent main girl.

    OP(s): 5/10.
    ED: 7.5/10.
    Show: 4/10.

Made in Abyss was much more interesting, with a great final episode that actually made me teary-eyed. Wonderful world-building, with no qualms of pulling its punches. Too bad about all the lolicon/fetish bullshit that makes me reluctant to continue in the manga.

    OP: 6.5/10.
    ED: 6/10.
    Show: 8.5/10.

    Next round: Erased and Baccano.

Check out The Rise of the Shield Hero. Solid 9/10 Isekai anime.

I don't know much about Erased (because I didn't really like it and stopped at like episode 2-3) but Baccano is amazing. I highly recommend watching the English dub over the sub.

Shield Hero is basically if you took a 2007 Indy Harry fic and made it an anime.

So it's better than 99.9% of Isekai anime (not exactly a huge milestone, I know)?

    Edit:

@Sauce Bauss In all seriousness, your comparison isn't an unfair one but I'd just like to add that it's like the Lie I've Lived. It's definitely got Indy Harry elements that haven't aged well but the overall experience is (IMO) enjoyable enough that those issues don't seem to matter much.

Through two episodes Baccano has managed to make me more confused than theoretical physics.

Oh come on, it's only three plots which took place at different points of time, each told achronologically plus some additional flashbacks.
The Lie I've Lived is a literary masterpiece compared to Shield Hero.

I didn't expect to enjoy Oregairu season 1 as much as I did, but goddamn, I haven't been this entertained in a while. Will start season two shortly, before eagerly anticipating season three.

Dude you do not know how disappointed I was by this show. It had such great ratings on MyAnimeList (admittedly their all fucking morons, but wisdom of the crowd...). It was awful.

So I've been watching Dororo. Its pretty decent, the themes are a bit straight forward for my taste (but that's just a product of anime's straightforwardness and Japan's general lack of literary ambition). If I could relate it to anything, it might be Japanese Heracles? Check out the first couple of episodes.

Season 1 was excellent, but Season 2 is a tier above - you'll love it, I guarantee.

Oi the Monogatari series has its charms. Even if Senjougahara carries the show, there are some great moments that made me continue onto Kizumonogatari.

Annoyingly, season 3 (which should cover everything else) is going to be exclusive to Epic Games

Apparently I should actually check the site, not trust Google's "you might like this".

But yeah, that would only impact anyone who pays for their anime.

I think quite a lot of fans, like myself, won't be affected, given that we use torrented fansubs - and this is an excellent example of why we do so.

Edit: Realized that this is Anime Maru, which, yes, a parody website.

I'm like 90% certain that's a joke article. The 10% is because if Epic actually brought anime onto their launcher, I could see it happening, but I'm pretty sure that's not in the cards right now.
