Me too. They are now classified as "have to read books or you have been living under a stone your whole life".

Well during my entire reading of HBP I was chanting under my breath "It will get better... It HAS to get better... CMON JKR WRITE BETTER DAMMIT!!!!"

But it never did get better. I will read the 7th book, but unless her writing does a 360 I wont re-read it.

I have never reread a book in my life. Are you seriously telling me that you have read the Harry Potter books more than once?

No, just the first 3. And it was for an independant study project about how JKR uses classical mythology in her writing.

You would be suprised just how much of it there is in there.

You would also be suprised about how much mythology in general is in Star Wars.

Ye, I know. But I think George Lucas emitted that he based StarWars on Joseph Campbell theories and his book The Hero with a Thousand Faces.

    Yeah he did.

And a few others as well.

Ever wonder where JKR got her 3 headed dog from? Classical Mythology... And just like in mythology it is guarding something. Though really thats just the most blatant example.

yeah I know, actually it wasn't hell though, it was "the underworld" where it is important to remember in classical mythology there was a paradise as well.

Wherin lies immortality in death (both of them)

In SS you have immortality as well... Meh I could pull out my final paper, but its over 25 pages long and I really don't feel like digging through it to find the passage where I talk about this...

well it just came to me a little while ago but moody's eye is from viking mythology...hear me out...moody's eye allows him to know everything that's going on(at least around him).. and the odin(the king od gods) in viking mythology gave you his left eye, so he too can know eternal knoweledge, to a giant who, guarded the knoweledge, want to see what was going on in the world. i knwo it a weak arguement but still it stands...somewhat...

The number of things she rips. Argus, the multi eyed creature? I'm more pissed off about how shitty the books have gotten.

JK stop humping and farting out kids and start writing better.,

Did "farting out kids" cross the line again?

He's going, in the draft I'm using now anyway, to Antarctica, and unearths the ruins of the high elf empire, that are buried under miles of ice, the result of a spell cast wrong to hide themselves from the world.

He comes across a spell the high kings used to bind their stewards to them whenever they would ride out to war, so you wouldn't have any of that "Steward of Gondor, but fuck that I'll act like a king no matter where the real king is" crap.

The loyalty bit one of the smaller plot holes she's left that I'm going after, trust me, I'm abusing canon and calling it my bitch and you're gonna love it =P

    Or toliet paper.

Thats the problem I have with that, and the fact that she went after Krum, a stupid jock. She seems to either need to be with someone who's borderline handicapped so she can constantly feel superior (i'm using this) or she like stupid jocks?

FINALLY someone else has seen that movie! Empire was great up until he (Leguizamo) started going out like a lil bitch. The part where he's stalking up to the dealer, calmy tucks in his chain, and just beats the shit out of that kid in one brief movement is an awesome "Holy shit" moment. Fat joe played "Tito Severe"

Dumbles real death should go over in some massive fight, not some half assed bit. (I honestly doubt he's dead, Snapes vow didn't exactly have a time limit on it, now did it? As long as he helps Malfoy kill him eventually it's still valid)

I've read it probably 20+ times. Then again I speed read and am often in the car as a passanger for the trips, so i can polish off the books in a disgusting amount of time, with almost complete retention of what I read.

I've read a huge amount into Norse, and Greek mythology, and also to a lesser extent the chinese stuff as well.

I'd put alot of weight on the various chinese theories for HP world, b/c almost everything in HP is based off equality/yin and ying

    -Harry/Voldemort's wands.

    Dumble/Voldie

    Harry/Malfoy = Poor/Rich, Humble/Arrogant, this goes on for a good bit more

    Harry/Neville Strong/weak, brave/coward, agile/clumsy

    Weasleys/Malfoys

Good werewolf Lupin/Bad Werewolf Fenrir , etc, etc, etc.

It's to the point in the series where it's fucking annoying once you have noticed it.Almost everything has its oppisite if you look hard enough

    good stuff, Midknight

I read quick but not speed read. But for God's sake, I writing in a Harry Potter forum. Despite How disappointed I am with JK, I think the first 4 were brilliant (the worst being Secrets) . I've probably read the first 5 around 2 times each. With 5 and 4 being read 3 times total, because they were the most recent before Half-blood (which I'll probably read again just to appreciate how bad it was.)

    Anyway, um yeah.

I do have to agree about secrets, I don't care if you just joined the magic world, you're hearning effing voices screaming blood and kill, and you don't fricking mention it to anyone? And then when Ginny gets taken you go to the well known useless fuck Lockhart for help? Why didnt the dumb bitch die again?

    Yeah

In order, from best to worst here is how I rank each of the books:

    1.) Goblet of Fire
2.) Tie Azkaban and Order of the Phoenix
    4.) Sorcerer's Stone
    5.)Chamber of Secrets
    6.) Half-Blood Prince

So as you can tell, I thought she was starting to improve after Goblet, and I expected her books to get better and better. I was disappointed by Order, but it wasn't so bad. And from there I just got devestated mostly because I was right in thinking that she wouldn't deliver on the promise set-up in Order of the Phoenix
