I personally want a Holland victory but that's only because I want Holland v England in the Quarters... Yeah, I think Portugal will be harder to beat than Holland so Go Oranje!

    England - Equador 0:0

Well, Ericson finally managed to brainfuck the English spirit out of the English national team.

WTF is the deal with him and his Italian 4-5-1 bullshit? I mean, really, who's ever heard of an English team that plays with only one striker (Chelsie excluded)? Those midfielders were simply smothering each other, while there wasn't enough strikers in the 16. The fucktard should quickly remove one midfielder and put in Rodney, unless he'd like to rely on lucky shots again.

Goodness. I reckon Beckham's plenty overrated as an overall player (decent/good player, fantastic marketing machine), but you gotta know he can do that on the free kicks. That was a hell of a shot.

1 - 0 final score. England play 4-4-2. End of. That match pretty much proved that. Unless he wants three more 1-0's, he needs to revert back to 4-4-2. We played alright but against either Holland or Portugal, we need to improve...

Also, it's about time Lampard was replaced. Maybe that'll put the fear of God back in him and he doesn't think he's so high and mighty just because he's in Chelski.

Did anyone else notice Beckham puking on the field though (sometime before he scored). I personally thought that that was pretty funny, I've never actually seen anyone puke on a football field before.

Also I don't see why everyone was booing Beckham after he got subsituted (although I might be a little biased here, I actually like Beckham) he did score the only goal. I think this (mockery of a) game was a team performance and he shouldn't be singled out.

Hopefully the next game will be more interesting, although I doubt that very much. Does anyone else think that this World Cup has been very disappointing in the quality of games? I mean except for a few exceptions (sadly Germany was involved in a lot of them) most of the games have ended in hollow and uninteresting victories. Oh well it might just be me.

Zidane did after his goal against England I believe.

The WOrld Cup has been very good so far. Lots of goals and (thanks to the ball) a lot of them spectacular.

I'm a Holland fan but that red card was uncalled for. This ref. is just too generous with cards. This is just going to ruin the whole game, good job jackass.

Uncalled for!? The guy was fucking waving in the air, reaching for the ball. There's nothing uncalled in intentional hand play. Especially if the referee has already forgiven him once five minutes ago.

BTW, anyone else think there's too many hands (or however you call in in football slang) on this World Cup? It's like everyone would prefer to play handball or something...

I think that if the ref. was going to give Costinha his second yellow he should have done it for his tackle. Giving for a handball is lame, especially since it he wasn't anywhere near the box, it was in the dying seconds of the half and didn't really affect play at all. Anyway I think that this ref. should be a bit more lenient in general, I think this is the same ref. that gave 8 yellows in the Switzerland - France game which I think is a bit OTT.

Yeah, especially the Ecuadorians. Gerarrd would've scored if that centre-back hadn't hand balled Rooney's pass.

I cant work out why beckham stayed on after he threw up... thats just odd...

Again like the Sweden game, England forced no saves worth mentioning. I wonder if they realise that yet. It always seems like a goal is being built, but then you look at the clock and realise its half time, or there are 20 mins left...

    Now a funny story

England are due to meet Brazil in the World cup final. In the Brazil dressing room...

Ronaldo: Look lads, Im really not up for it tonight, I might head to the pub instead.

Lucio: Yeah me too. Hey Ronaldinho, why dont you go and play for us.

'Dinho: Sure, you guys head off to the pub.

So... The Brazillians head of for a few pints and Ronaldinho goes to play England on his own...

Suddenly, Ronaldo gets a txt message "Brazil 1 - 0 Ronaldinho 12 mins"

Just over an hour later, Ronaldo gets a phone call....

"Ronaldo, get the lads back here, Rooney just equalised in the 89th minute. I need you guys for extra time.

The rest of the squad rush back and Ronaldinho is in the dressing room

Ronaldinho: Look lads, Im really sorry, ive let you all down.

The rest of the squad: Look mate what are you talking about, you drew 1-1 with england on your own.

Ronaldinho: Yeah, but I got sent off after 15 mins...

    ..............WEEEEEEEEEEEEE....................

Come on this is getting ridiculous, 17 yellows in one game including 3 reds. This has to be the most carded game in the whole world cup up til now. Like I said this refereee is a real jackass and he's ruining the game for anyone watching.

The referee's throwing out cards left right and center...

Kuyt is absultely useless, I cant understand why premiership teams want him. Bodes well for England with Deco out. Although that was a monstrous decision

The refs are too card happy. It's fucking annoying now. Completely ruining the match.

This is just painful to watch, all these missed chances. I've banged my head on my table more times than I care to count. 4 reds though this has to be the first time this has happened in a world cup... EVER. I feel we should have won this though, if only we were a bit sharper. If only, if only, if only. Sorry I'm a bit frustrated at the moment.

9 facing 9...I commend those who actually managed to stay on.

Blegh. I thought a fight was going to break out between the two teams, with the referee emerging with a bloodied nose...:D

Guess Portugal's going to face England now...

    Same - don't feel sorry.

Oranje had so many chances and I can't even bring up the referees. All that had to happen was Kuyt connecting with one of those six or seven crosses, and especially the one that was shot to the eight yard area (the one he missed by just an inch or two).

Arjen Robben looked a bit off at times and at other times looked sharp. As I said - can't blame the referees or even bring them up; referees are as much as an obstacle in the World Cup as the opposition and the good teams will get passed that. Tonight was not Oranje's night. Congrats, Portugal.

Looking good for England. Portugal are gonna be rather depleted when they come to play us lol.

The ref killed this game. The way he was throwing out cards was ridiculous. A good referee can control the players, clearly Valentin Ivanov of Russia is not a good referee. 16 yellow cards and 4 players sent off, someone shoot him. Football was a side issue in this match.
