England is going to have a walk in the park after that poor of an excuse for a game.

Was like watching Hockey, to much fighting.

Holland v Portugal was a good game - the last 30 minutes were as exciting as they can get.

"So, I went to this fight, right. And suddenly, a damn football game broke out."

And yeah, the ref wasn't really good. I had a ball watching the game on the side though, I thought the teams were going to get at each other's throat.

The England V. Ecuador game was a disappointment. I mean England had so many chances at goal from give aways by the Ecudorian side but still they only had that one awesome goal by Beckem. Ecudor played well but they made so many mistakes it wasn't even funny.

The Portugal V. Netherlands game was a surprise. I thought Netherlands would come out on top but even with a one man disadvantage they couldn't capatilize. Very intense game though.

Italy V. Aussie - 2:0 ITA:AUS. No offence to the Aussie fans but Italy is so much better.

Swiss V. Ukarain - 1:0 SUI:UKR. Not sure on this one. I like the Swiss team. They play a really good game but I think they will find UKR a tough team to beat. Game worth watching.

    What a load of shit.

As LordBill said: "Items to add to shopping cart: 1 gun, 1 ticket to Germany..."

That ref just totally fucked up.

    Worst. Call. EVER!

It was a bad call by the referee and the bastard should invest in a trip to Germany's version of Specsavers.

FIFA should come down hard on the diving, it's appalling at the moment.

I really cannot believe the ref fell for that. Iaquinta should be banned. I was horrified. Cheating bluddy show boaters. The south Americans are the same...

After hearing FIFA's president, and seeing his shitty work, I don't think that referee's gonna be refereeing many more games, at least in important competitions.

And the guys from Netherland came prepared for a wrestling match, not a football game, but we still kicked ass!!!

    GO PORTUGAL!!!

That about sums it up for me. Oh, wait... Uh, anyway...

Aside from the terrible end note of the game, I loved that double headbutt in the second, the didn't-quite-hit-the-ball flip kick from cross late in the second and the absolutely tin-arse save in the first where Schwarzer's foot just clipped the ball. I didn't like the referee's calls or the Socceroo's defence. We kept in the middle well, but there were too many times where one or two of the Italians would end up deep in our end and our defenders would have to chase them down. Ah well, can't be everywhere at one.

    Ukraina - Switzerland 3:0

Another terrible game today. The most interesting detail on the game was that cheeky penalty shot by that Ukrainian kid, for 1:0. Say what you will, but you really must have guts to make a shot like that, when a) you're the youngest player in your team and b) Shevchenko himself missed the first shot.

The only team so far which has managed to captivate my attention was Trinidad & Tobago. Before the competition I had never even heard of them.
They do have a very talented keeper.

(are they even in the competition anymore? Haven't been following the matches lately)

Man, that "cheeky" penalty shot killed me. That was beautiful. The fact that it worked just makes him look so completely confident in his ability to read the goalie. This is freaking penalty shots on a freaking elimination game of the freaking World Cup! That is one cocky summmmbitch. Fantastic.

(I just discovered I can watch on ESPN 360 at work now. ESPN 360 is avail to everyone now until July 19th or something. S'why I actually watched most of this game... at work. Don't tell my boss.)

Damn those games were disappointing. I was supporting Italy but even I did not agree to that penalty. I really don't know what the Ref was thinking. The goal felt hollow after that. Stupid ref. The Aussies played really well and I think they deserved to go to the next round. Stupid ref.

What a BS call... But LMFAO at the PK's in the Ukraine match. My one friend is Ukrainian -- I got a call from him not 15 seconds after the match ended.

Him and all of his Ukranian friends were watching it (I was cleaning my house). Only word I could make out was "QUARTERFINALS!!!!"

    Today's Matches:

    Brazil v Ghana

2-0 Brazil. This will be one high tempo match, definitely one to watch. I'd like to see more of Robinho but Ronaldo now has a motivation to score (hit tha godly number 15). With both teams liking to attack, this could well be the anti-Ukraine:Switzerland :) Realistically, Ghana just don't have the talent to win this one.

    Spain v France

1-1 France win on penalities. There really is nothing to choose between these teams whatsoever. If France decie to turn up today, they will win but the reverse can also be said. This won't be a thriller, I fear. It has a draw written all over it. If it comes to penalties, France have the edge with their older team.

God damn, another rip-off by referees! He let Brazil score from clear offside. This whole thing about Ghana is a set-up, to let overinflated Brazil pass...
