Ghana don't deserve to be losing, they've been the better team so far. That second goal was clearly offside and the linesman was in a good position to see so. Poor decision to let the goal stand.

At the end of the day, Brazil are disappointing but score 3 goals. Other teams are dissapointing and score 1 or none at all. That's the difference between the best team in the world and the rest of the competition.

Brazil was disappointing by the fact that they couldve played much better nd everyone expected them to do so. Compared to other teams, brazil is indeed kickass. But if they want to survive in the world cup theyre going to have to pick up their game.

Brazil will win this Cup, no doubt about it. They are already tempering their form for the finals, which is why their games in this stage seems too calculating. But even on the next game we should expect better Brazil, and even better in the half-finals, to end up simply blowing away whomever they meet in the final game.

Still, I can't help but feel dissapointed that they're not playing like that now.

1-0 Spain so far. I think that they will win the match today.

I can't see Brazil winning this World Cup.

They just haven't been playing the way you'd expect the world's best football team to play.

They have a manager who has won te World Cup before. As IP said, it is very likely that they are playing 70-75% and building up for the final. Evidence? Ronaldinho playing so deep, playing Emerson and Ze Reborto in the centre, leaving most of the prodigies on the bench etc.

Heh, what a fix. Yesterday, a Spanish referee awarded Italy a penalty in 94th min, for an academy award worthy dive. Today, an Italian referee awards Spain a free penalty, basically returing the favor.

Thankfully, that wasn't enough to beat experienced France. Who knows, France could have had a shot at the cup, if not for their unfortunate meeting with Brazil in a few days...

Lets not forgot 98, they beat Brazil 3-0, and its true that most of the players on their team are old but we saw a little of Zidanes glory return in the spain game much like Ronaldo is finally getting off his high horse. If France pulls it together then they could beat Brazil just lik 98 except this time it will be for Semi finals and not the finals.

If I remember correctly, it was said that in 1994, when Brazil won the Cup, they played for the win only. So it seems they are just scoring as needed. I haven't seen the game, but I'd say Brazil has very good chances at the Cup. On the other hand, we have yet to see them against another favorite, so let's see how they play against France and probably Spain/England.

And, I think the penalty against France was deserved. Thuram stepped on the back of Pablo's calf.

Well, not the best game so far, Argentina with way more possession and a more controlled game, though only one shot at the goal. But still the better game, safely passing the ball around rather than Germany's long passes that seldom reach the striker. Germany is still too nervous and losses possession very fast.

So either someone scores (Argentina might with Riquelme doing some work, Germany must change their game to get some good shots at the goal) or we might just see a shoot-out (both Germany and Argentina have won three shoot-outs at World Cups so far).

I think if it goes to penalties Germany have better odds.

They've won 13/14 of penalty shoot outs in major tournements.

    Litha

    Edit: 4-2 penalties to Germany!
    Yay Germany!
