Germany will win it. The laws of World Cups dictate so.

the laws of World Cup also included Brazil making to the final round. i say there are too many surprises this year and who knows...maybe italy will beat germany.

im rooting for germany cuz they got ballack, klose, podolski & some sweet talent. and if france reaches the final then i wish germany kicks their ass and gets some revenge for brazil....*still shocked by brazil's loss*

NOOOOOO!!! England Lost!! How could they. I almost want to give up watching because of that. Then I looked at the Brazil - France score and thougth WTF?? Brazil lost... Now it doesn't seem so bad anymore.

Think I'll root for Italy now.

Ha! France are way better then you think and they have a nice chance of winning the cup. All the people here say that Germany will win. I disagree. I saw Germany win grey Sweden and win only with penalties Argentina who played bad in this game. So don't bury other teams too, Germany isn't so good herself.
(I'm rooting for Italy who may I say humilated Germany in Pre-WC game)

Never know. France was pretty good against Brazil. They could go to the finals and win it.

    Go France and Italy.

France have always been a good team. Zidane is simply amazing and Henri is a genius. Don't discount them, they may just do it again.

That is not true. France have been a bad team in their qualification group and barely made it to the WC. In their WC group they also hasn't shown a good game. They got better with time but still almsot nobody gave them a chance when they finished tie.

No, they don't. Brazil hardly ever does well on European soil. And there have been a grand total of 3 surprises this year. :/

Heh...i just had to quote that, no real reason :p

    Italy For The Win indeed.

CarnivalOfCarnage: stfu. Italy is an excellent team that boasts the greatest defense in the world. Gilardino, though a Rossineri player (i support the Bianconeri), is an excellent young striker. Toni scored 31 goals in one season for Fiorentina...that is simply amazing. He hasn't been in great form, but the two goals in the last match will have boosted his morale.

I just wish del Piero had never gotten injured back in the day...he was, tactically speaking, one of footballs most creative and intelligent strikers. Camoranesi, the right winger for the Bianconeri, is a far above average player, but ahs a tendency to get rough at inopportune times.

In March, Italy DESTROYED Germany 4-1. They can do it again. The only problem is with the Azzurri defense. Nesta is injured, and most likely will not return for the match against Germany. That sucks major ass because Nesta is perhaps the best defender in the world. Another Rossineri player, he is regardless the best in my eyes. Then, de Rossi is out, a consequence of his incredibly idiotic attack on McBride in the USA game.

Luckily, Matterazzi will be back to fill in for Nesta again. I'd have liked for de Rossi to be there, but his 4 match ban makes that impossible.

Italy is a world class team, and i'm definitely rooting for them to win.

While Henry is amazing athletic, and a great futbol player, I think he's an idiot. There were numerous times where if he had taken the one step to stay onside before making his run that he would have scored. I mean, I've seen tons of replays where he's standing behind the last defender, instead of one step forward where he would be even with the defender. It isn't that hard to be onsides at the start of the play, rather than not be onsides at any time. It's not that the runs were mistimed or anything, it's just that he couldn't be bothered to take just that one step to be onsides.

Germany had a terrible run up to the world cup though, I even remember Romania beating them 5-0 somewhere last year. The difference is that Germany has been able to step up their play in this WC. If you compare each sides games you should be able to see that Germany has played a more attacking (and thus more attractive) football than Italy and has been consistently good. That being said they will have a difficult time against the Italian defence which is good but not the best in the world (I think that reward goes to England) so the match will be close. Even if by the odd chance Italy manage to play better than the Germans I still they it would be better for this world cup if the Germans went through.

Considering the fact that only one goal has been scored against Italy in this Cup so far, and by an Italian no less, it'll surely be interesting to see if Klose and Podolski can get through.
On the other hand, Italy has yet to play against one of the bigger soccer nations at this cup, we'll see if they can repeat the last performance against Germany. I for my part sincerely hope not. Playing in Dortmund will surely give the German team a great boost.

    Germany v Italy [8pm GMT]

2 - 1 Germany. Italy have the talent but Germany have the talent and World Cup form. Note how Italy haven't faced a single difficult team in the knockout stages. They struggled against the Aussies and won through pure dumb luck - wtf. Germany, however, have seen off the favourites for the whole damn thing. Word.
