Yeah. I'm really happy about Germanys win. I really though they would play 0 - 0.

Mm... Im kinda happy I predicted the winner, loser and tie for each game right.

Germans got lucky, but they did play better then the polaks though.

    Better?

Without the polish goal-keeper playing as well, it would have easily been 3+-0.

    2-0 to England!

Knew we could do it, never once doubted it. I most certainly didn't think that Trindad were gonna beat us at any time. lol.

    Great goal by Gerard.

    *Breathes a sigh of relief*

Lampard was horrendous and Lennon was genius. We escaped a lot of embarassment for what now, on paper, looks like a comfortable victory. Beckham was good throughout and for once, Sven got something right (though he still put Downing on grrr!)

Crouch's goal was pretty sweet too.
I thought I would have heart failure through the stress, then he goes and scores.

    Yay!
    2-0

It wouldn't be England if they didn't make it difficult for themselves. It looks like a comfortable victory but Trinidad made it hard. Gerrard's goal was fantastic.

I'd do the Crouch Robot now but I don't want to look like an idiot:)

The match was mediocre, Lennon was fucking fantastic. If this is how we play against fucking T&T how are we going to beat the big teams?

    I'm worried.

God, I thought I was going to die. That was one hell of a breathless game. Agreed, it looks very comfortable on paper. First half wasn't particularly good, but we really picked up in the second half of the second half. I didn't find Lampards performance horrendous at all, but I can't say I was too focussed on him. He had some good chances/shots, no?

Personally, I didn't find Crouch played particularly well, albeit he was marked aggressively. Both goals were fantastic, though. Impressed with Beckham as well, its rather overcame my prior impression of him as a over-rated celebrity footballer. If England keep playing like they did today though, I doubt they'll go all the way.

Yeah, we really need to step it up if we want to be able to beat teams like Brazil...but maybe if we do play a team like Brazil, then we will really try harder as we will be the underdogs, rather than being lazy as when we are the favourites.

Great to see Ronney playing, even if he didn't do much.

I have to say England have been involved in the 2 worst matches of the World Cup so far.

They have absolutly no creativity except through Joe Cole (when he bothers to pass the bluddy ball, and Lennon). There is no off the ball movement, one of the fundamentals of football is 'pass and move'. With England its 'pass and stand still'

Ashley Cole was woeful. Terry, despite a couple of good tackles, once again failed to impress me at all, especially with his ridiculous long balls to Shaka Hislop.

Lampard, a desperatly overated player. He does well for Chelsea bacause he has Makalele. He is annoyingly greedy when it comes to his long shots, he rarely bothers to tackle or win back the ball which he inevitably loses it. Crouch was fine, Beckham was fine, Lennon was good (Sven has finally decided to use him)

I have noticed a trend with England since Sven took over. They dont close down anyone. Every team England play against are chasing the ball down instantly. Lampard, Gerrard Etc have little time to do anything creative. Thats fair enough, so why dont England do it? There were plenty of times today when the ball was picked up just inside the T&T half with Lampard and Gerrard about a metre away and they just stood and ball watched. When players run at us, we back off until they get to the box. It is so infuriating.

Im getting angry and ranting away.... sorry... 2-0 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
What i will say in Englands defence is that they do raise their game against harder teams...

    Today's matches.

    15:00 Argentina ? - ? Serbia & Montenegro

As much as I'd like to get into the cheering spirit, I can't help but think that Serbia doesn't stand a chance. Maybe we could wrench a draw with LOTS of luck, but that's a really long shot...

    18:00 Holland ? - ? Ivory Coast

I'm inclined to give the Coast a shot here. They played really brave against Argentina and lucked out, while Dutchs were rather cautious against Serbia. Holland just MIGHT slip here, if they don't improve their zeal.

    21:00 Mexico ? - ? Angola

I give Mexico slightly better chances here, but it can turn either way, really.

    Argentina: 3
    S&M: assraped

Well, this is what you get when you have 2 key defense players injured, including one last minute change. The only thing that was ever good about S&M team was defense; and now that was shot to hell. It'll be a miracle if we don't completely embarrass ourselves till the end of the match.

Heh, the coach is going with the Hail Marry tactics (throw all the attackers in and pray)... Well, I guess it's becoming our tradition to go out with a bang; On the last world cup, we went out with S&M-Holland 1-6. Maybe he's trying to beat that.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH!!!

I'm so sorry, IP, but Serbia is getting pwnt by the Argentines :D Argentina is a bloody powerhouse...especially Riquelme...that guy is a god.

One thing just baffled me...wtf is Kezman there for? Didn't he play for Czech Republic in the last WC? As i remember it, when he played for Chelsea, he was announced as a Czech player. I remmber feeling bad for Nedved, for having Kezman on his team :p

    Mateja Kezman...gah.
