Try, even if it turns out badly you don't have to post it. And if it does turn out to be a good fic? Then you'll have a bunch of brutally honest critics on your hands that secretly enjoy reading it. What fun!

Sigh. Another decent story that's been abandoned at too early a stage.

This one really is pretty good. It's got a few cliches (Harry discovers a bookshop containing uber-powerful spellbooks in Knockturn Alley), but it's well-written, engaging, and old enough to ignore them.

Dumbledore has done something to Harry's magic, but we don't really learn what it is. Likewise, the relationships with Fleur and Tonks barely get off the ground.

I'd give it a 4/5 for what's there, but I feel compelled to lower it to 3/5 because it's only 21k words and abandoned. I guess other people need to weigh in on what to do with all the half-decent but abandoned stories.

Pretty much your typical Independent!Harry Manipulative!Dumbledore harem package, aside from the absence of many clichés from the genre. The story is very solid for the most part and it delivered quite a bit of entertainment.

Biggest problems for me were Fleur and Tonks randomly getting a crush on Harry for unoriginal reasons, the cringe-worthy scene with Dumbledore giving the Magical Vow and the insane Death Eater at the end.

Overall a good time-waster for those who don't mind over-powered Harry, but the general lack of plot development won't let it win any awards.

    3/5
