You're thinking about it too logically. People are seeing a Slytherin who apparently socializes with the children of Death Eaters and has been surrounded by suspicious rumors in the past who immediately recognises a Dark spell and has enough knowledge of it to counter it.

Sure, if you think about it logically it doesn't really make sense for a Dark wizard to go out of his way to save two Gryffindors and it's understandable that he'd recognise the spell. However, this isn't really logical thinking going on - it's fear mongering in the press and the rumour mill and Harry is suspicious enough for people to buy into it.

 

People were willing to believe the 12 year old super Gryffindor HP was really the Heir of Slytherin and was going around trying to MURDER students despite being a halfblood and showing no inclination at all of that kind of thing in his personality or history. It's not a stretch at all for THIS Harry to be suspected of ANYTHING.

 

Harry is going to be fucked if he comes out of this the only one alive. The aurors will know someone opened the wards from the inside and Harry, already being suspected by many, the only witness claims it was the aurors. Who are dead as well. I mean it is a bit suspicious how an underage boy can seemingly go against Voldemort and his best and come out of it alive every time because of some weird magical accident.

 

I very much doubt mira mirth will kill off Neville at this point in the story.

 

Best Harry is a Slytherin story ever, IMO.

You read this update, you enjoy it like fine wine. Then when you finish it you feel the fanfiction reading passion rekindled.

Then all you are left with to read, is at best standard mediocre FFN stuff.

Shit, I forgot what happened in the past few chapters. Time to reread those before the new one. As usual.

 

Honestly, I hate rereading this story. I always forget what happens in the most recent chapter, and the first 3 years are pretty awful (though the later years more than make up for it).

 

I resolved to wait until this fic was either completed or abandoned before rereading it. I can't remember shit about it, at the moment, besides it being awesome.

 

I thought a lot of the revelations and conversations in this chapter were well done, thematically. Harry realizing how like Dumbledore he is in particular was very nicely done.

 

Loved the update. Snape, Dumbledore and Harry interacting is fast-becoming my favorite scene. They all approach things with interestingly different/similar attitudes.

 

Loved the update, though I was a bit confused on certain areas since I only reread the prior chapter. The interaction with Snape and Dumbledore is spot on. I'm also really enjoying his inner battle with dark magic though, I think it's a well done take why it may be considered dark.

 

I had only recently reread the story so this chapter comes doubly appreciated. Brilliant story and I really hope it will be finished, which actually seems possible even though the update rate could be slightly faster.
