One Piece is always awesome

The pace is kicking up and Big Mam's crew is stronger than I thought.

 

Finally, a new chapter! The two returning characters - the crew's reaction to the female was WTF. IMO it was pretty irritating. The dude seems as badass as ever though.

Luffy is just awesome and I love the interaction of the crew, even if I can't get used to Zorro's new look.

 

The strawhats we hilarious as usual. However, it did look kind of creepy when Luffy wrapped around Nami.

THE NEW WORLD IS HERE

 

Anyone besides me noticed Thousand Sunny lion/sunflower expression when they got pulled into the White Strom?

 

I liked the new chapter despite been disappointed that we didn't get any Smoker, supernova,crocodile or doflamingo. It was kind of logical that they wouldn't just appear in the new world, that Oda had to keep the anticipation for it there, which is why I think we won't get to see the straw hats next week but whats happening in the rest of the world, perhaps even new bounties.

I am guessing that the Island they are in front of is either the Lightning island that Urogue went to or the Fire island that Blackbeard captured Bonney it(although I always thought it was the Blackbeards that set on fire, it would explain why Akainu was there)because the reflection of the flames would give the sea a blood red color.

Now does anyone feel that Fishman Island will be the catalyst that will push LUFFY into the inevitable final war.Because what we know about Luffy now is that he really doesn't care about the past and he is not a hero.

So whatever the truth about the void century is, it is not whats going to push Luffy to go into an all out war with the World government.I also think that FI was the only island Luffy will declare as his own this will set up for the catalyst situation.

 

IMO the 'claiming' of Fishman Island was a plot device to bring about conflict between Big Mam and the SH crew. It'd also show everyone that Luffy's back, and making a serious bid for Pirate King (only Yonkou's claim islands like this and succeed, after all).

That said, the new chapter was just awesome. It's the real reason why One Piece is so good - not because of the epic battles, but because of the spirit of joy and adventure that the SH crew has.

 

Thriller Bark's rudders/navigational shit got broken up by the huge red zombie, and caused it to sail out of the Florian Triangle, IIRC.

 

Yeah, no.

I meant the thing Lola sees in the mist and the narrator saying that the Florian Triangle mystery about the disappearing ships dates way before Thriller Bark.

At the time, it had left me thinking that Lola's story wouldn't end there, but that we would see her again and that whatever happened after the Strawhats' departure would be a plot point of some kind in the manga.

I thought she either had been captured (by whatever that misty shape is) or she had reunited with Big Mam (who was in the misty shape). I had tentatively discarded the latter recently, because of how the Emperor had immediately antagonized Luffy after the candy business. Lola would have gushed about the Strawhats to her if they had met, I believe. Consequently, I would have expected Big Mam as more benign/grateful to our favorite crew, if that had been the case (even though she seems positively obsessed with her candy and we don't know much more about her character).

But I'm forced to discard the captured scenario too, with the new chapter that shows Lola speaking with Franki's "sisters".

I guess we'll see.

 

So i started the manga, like a month ago, and currently the gang are looking for a chef. Yeah that's where i am, and i only read 2/3 chapters a week. Think it'll take me quite a while to catch up.

 

Oh man, I remember when I started reading. I think I caught up to it in the middle of Impel Down. Awesome times, though I enjoyed One Piece a lot more when I didn't have to wait for a chapter to come every week. Not to say I don't enjoy it anymore, just that it's a bit annoying having to go back and read the previous chapters if I can't remember exactly what happened.

 

New chapter is fucking awesome.

Smoker has become a major boss, even more so than before.

Epic. Just epic. And it being locked away? Talk about the Will of D being literally slapped in your face. Though this more than ever makes me wonder about Luffy's father.

 

It was staring at Luffy, I honestly didn't think he could tame anything more epic than the the Kraken but
