I have a feeling that we'll learn more about Haoshoku when Luffy and Donflamingo fight. I'm looking forward to that.

Zoro basically turned half the chapter into a badass boast where he cut apart a mountain repeatedly in midair after being thrown across an island.

The fight wasn't epic, but Zoro ended it with style.

And where the fuck have you been? Unless you think the only person with thats strong in Doflamingo's crew is Doflamingo himself(which is a retarded notion) then you're clearly overestimating Doflamingo like so many are wont to do.

Doflamingo is not nearly as strong as so many people think he is and there's no real reason for why people even think he is. All we've seen him do is ambush Diamond Jozu, clash with and subsequently back down from Aokiji, and that's about it.

He clearly is not Admiral level like so many thought he was, he definitely isn't on the same level of Mihawk as Mihawk isn't afraid of Yonkou like Doflamingo is. The only thing Doflamingo had going for him is his ties to the Tenryuubito that let him get away with so much shit.

This doesn't change the fact that i think his crew -should- have been stronger than they were shown to be, but it's not like Doflamingo and his crew are as strong as a Yonkou's crew. And it certainly isn't like Doflamingo himself is as strong as an Admiral. Anyone who thought so were simply kidding themselves.

    Chapter is out.

If Law dies...i'm revolting. And no chapter next week, fuck!

Though if i'm honest, it's really hard to feel the gravity of the situation given Mancherry's ability. But you can never tell with Oda...

Huh, Mansherry's ability hasn't really influenced my view on anything, considering we haven't even seen it used. I think we haven't, at least?

And, well, no one said she could cure death. We just don't know what the extent of her abilities actually are.

If Oda kills Law it would be a genius move storywise. But I still believe, that he's going to be the next crew member.

Hmmm, really? I can't see Law joining the Straw Hats as a crew member. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they continue to have a close alliance on their separate ships. I do like Law though, so I certainly wouldn't mind. Hope he stays in the story either way and doesn't die.

I'm still stoked for when Jinbe shows back up. Got my fingers crossed that he's going to be the next crew member like he said he would be. Cool to semi-keep up with him via the cover pages.

With Jinbe though... I think we've got a bit before he turns back up, because when he joins the crew I'm expecting that Luffy and Zoro at least will be stronger than him, and right now that's debatable. My guess is that things will come to a head once we get to the Big Mom arc, since that will (1) probably imply a power upgrade for Luffy and (2) free Jinbe of his current obligations to her via Fishman Island.

But back to Law... the only reason I think the threat of killing him is feasible is because right now there isn't enough tension or something in this arc. I've enjoyed it anyway, but it seems like it's stuck halfway between the 'look-how-we-powered-up-arc' of Fishman Island and a more dire arc like we are used to. I know that Doffy should be able to kick Luffy's ass, but none of his subordinates have been that impressive yet, and for the most part things seem to be going okay. Doffy's subordinates defeated, Admiral Issho helping to contain the chaos down below, Sabo sorting out the illegal weapons stuff, and Luffy on his way to confront Doffy himself. The king isn't dead and his allies know he was innocent. It's far from an ideal situation, given the Bird Cage and deaths so far, but...

Things seem to be going okay. Hence some shit might be about to go down from out of nowhere. If not Law then maybe we'll see pop back to find out that Sanji's attack on Big Mom's ship didn't go so well after all.

I honestly forgot the whole Sanji business.

The okay-ish vibe for this arc seems to nail it. The usual face-off line-up, a country on the brink, the Big Bad at the end and the Strawhats save the day. Almost like the Alabasta-arc (Crocodile/Doflamingo, Smoker/Blind-Admiral-Dude, bomb/net) only less dangerous, because the Strawhats were superior from the start. Not bad, but a bit meh.

I would love to see something big. Big Mom flips and destroys the whole island, because of that Smile-stuff or whatever.

Personally, I don't see Jinbei joining. I think something's going to happen either to him before he joins(death) or circumstances are simply going to change and he won't join. But as for him in relation to Luffy and Zoro, I agree its very debatable but personally i think its mostly clear Luffy is already at the very least equal to Jinbei going by their clash in Fishman Island. While neither were obviously going all out, I think that was shown to showcase Luffy definitely caught up to Jinbei, if not already surpassed him(which i think he did, Oda likely wouldn't have even had Luffy make the offer if Jinbei was stronger, even though he delayed Jinbei joining).

As for Sabo, this chapter has Sabo heading over to Luffy so i think the illegal weapons were put on hold. Which is probably foreshadowing Luffy definitely needing some backup. Because this is going to be a 2 on 1 fight for Luffy, unless someone like Koala steps in until Sabo gets there.

A fair point, but what I meant was more along the lines of the Straw Hats probably not having to worry about dealing with it in general because the representatives of the Revolutionary Army are there for that reason. I.e. whenever it gets dealt with, now or later, it's unlikely to be a source of major tension for the Straw Hats because there is another group of allies that cares about it a lot more than they do.

    ....It's...okay..Law only took like...7 bullets this chapter...and like 3 30 chapters ago...and had his arm cut off awhile ago...he's fine....he's..just napping...*broken sobs*

What's up with the bird cage shrinking too? Is it because Doffy is focusing more of his attention on Luffy or is someone else responsible for it shrinking?

Uh, a bit late with the spoiler tags but sorry. Honestly figured people only checked into this thread -after- reading the chapter. I'll be more mindful when i post within hours of a new chapter release.

Put that shit in a spoiler tag. Chapter just came out.

    Also... question.
On the title page the vertical text says 'Corazon's True Identity Revealed!' ...Except I must have missed that part, even reading the chapter twice. There was something about Law being like the ghost of Corasan, something about the 'Heart,' etc., but nothing that seemed to add new information.

Also, is that 'Listen up!' bubble at the end going to be a flashback bubble or a current one? I can't tell, but my assumption is the former?

    My prediction:
The real Law switched Corasan and himself when he was a kid before dying in Corasan's body.:sherlock:

This could actually be true. Corazon smiled when he died (the D.-theme), Law however, if he's really dead, didn't.

My guess is whatever site you read the chapter from, the translations were off. What I saw was "What is the identity of the "most evil truth" that assaults Law?" Nothing mentioned Corazon by name(on the title page), and nothing said anything about his true identity revealed.

Might explain why even after re-reading the chapter you're still confused about that message on the title page.

I definitely applaud you on a truly unique and interesting and even plausible theory, but there's a few reasons why i don't see this being the case. The most important reason is, Law had zero control over his ability when Corazon was killed. We were shown in detail everything that happened leading up to Corazons death.

Corazon put Law in the chest. Both were in their own bodies. Doflamingo and Virgo came and Corazon was mortally wounded via the gunshots. Both Corazon and Law were in their own bodies. We saw Corazon speak his last words to Law and that he loved Law. Still both in their bodies.

There was never any opportunity for Law to switch bodies with Corazon. That's like Luffy when he was training with Ace and Sabo when they were kids using Gear 2nd. It was simply out of his ability to do so, even accidentally.

I have a feeling Luffy will beat Doflamingo, as usual. Then the cage will keep shrinking and the admiral will destroy it. Because what the hell if he waiting around for.

Is it just me or is Doflamingo's abilities getting more and more outlandish? Seems a bit sloppy on Oda's part to be honest. And i'm referring to this chapter specifically only in how it went down. Just seemed a bit to contrived and forced and convenient.

If you haven't noticed(not sure how since he outright said his plans), Fujitora wants to outright abolish the Shichibukai system. How does he do this as a new Admiral who has little political power since he's still new?

Let a tragedy happen while minimizing the damage as best he can. Fujitora could have taken Doflamingo out the first fucking chapter he was introduced. Fujitora knows Doflamingo is a shady mother fucker even before it went public. But that doesn't further his goal, the abolishment of the Shichibukai system.

So he tells his men to try to protect the citizens lives, lets shit get as fucked up as it possibly can get without a true massacre on his hands, and then he'll make his move. When all this goes public, of which it will since all the pirates/innocents that were turned into toys are free from Sugar, this will no doubt force the goverment to dispose of the Shichibukai system from to much bad press from not only outside, but from within their own marines.

I think Doflamingo's abilities being expanded upon to this level is just a consequence of the New World. We've entered a place where we're starting to hit these monster-level fruit users that have had to compete with Logias (which have been considered the top tier so far).

So what we're getting is an expansion of Paramecia abilities from people who've had to compete with Logia power fruits to survive. Just like Luffy adapted the Gum Gum to create Gear Second and Third.

This is...nothing like Luffy getting Gear 2nd/3rd. Doflamingo has threads extending from island to island so he can essentially fly. That's fine. Most of Doflamingo's attacks are thread based and can slice buildings and shit. That's fine.

Doflamingo can control his opponents body...um what? Restrict movement, okay, control movement, i mean...okay it gets a pass. Doflamingo can create a clone of himself, potentially a clone of whatever the fuck he wants...again umm, i don't think this one can get a pass.

And now what he just said in this chapter. It's getting more and more outlandish. And in my opinion, even if i were to ignore the growing list of his abilities, it was just a poorly done scene.
