I don't keep up with the fandom all that much. When I first got into One Piece I went and made the rounds. Looked for decent fanfiction, looked up theories and spoilers, etc. But since that initial push I haven't checked back with it.

The Blackbeard!Cerberus theory someone linked was interesting, but unless I'm missing something it probably wouldn't have a huge effect on the plot. Blackbeard having a cool fruit would be cool, but that's probably about it.

I hadn't heard this one! Fujitora eh? What's the speculation behind that theory? I can't say I'm a big fan.

Though this does make me wonder if Ace's mom was interesting/important for anything except sleeping with Roger. She was a D if I remember correctly. Do we know anything about her apart from her role as wife and mother?

Personally I'd guess that either (1) Luffy's mom is a male character that we've already met, or (2) she is a woman that we haven't met yet and will therefore get a badass introduction later, or (3) she's dead or won't turn up at all.

Though to be fair I just covered almost all of the bases. :facepalm

Given how this is One Piece, even if she's dead we'll probably get a multi-issue flashback explaining her tragic story and why Dragon joined the Revolutionary Army.

Fujimom was mostly a circlejerk response on reddit whenver Crocomom came up. Especially after Chapter 799 when Fuji starts to regret taking his own eyes, and not being able to see Luffy.

I'd go with the third option, it seems to fit in with everyone elses mothers being nonexistant. Oda's dislike of mothers is nothing new, he's stated before that "Mothers are the antonym of Adventure". If true however, her death may have been what sparked Dragon to become a revolutionary, if it was at the hands of the WG.

I like to think that Luffy's mom was a Celestial dragon who fell in love with the "Devil". Don't have any basis for the theory but feels like it would be a good plot. :)

Interesting. The D may be related in some way to the Celestial Dragons regardless, since they're the ones who seem to be scared of it (in some cases). Also randomly made me wonder if 'Dragon' is really Dragon's name, or if it's a name he began using as an adult for whatever reason.

I stopped looking for One Piece theories when Garp was shown to be Luffy's grampa. I had laughed at that theory so much I felt ashamed. Also, it somewhat spoiled the reveal, so I just enjoy the ride now.

Hahaha! Holy crap, I knew people came up with some crazy theories but Crocodile being Luffy's mom?? I mean, the part about him possibly being a woman at one point in the past is acceptable, but being Luffy's mom???

I highly doubt Dragon would have let Ivankov live if he turned his past lover, even if it was a one night stand, into a man.

I really really hope that's not the case. It'll just cheapen the whole revolutionary angle.

I prefer him just being a revolutionary at heart. His dad was a high ranking marine for the WG so maybe that's how he figured out how shitty the world is and decided to do something about it.

Revenge would be a completely boring motivation.

All this talk about no mothers being around (even ignoring that concentrated mass of badass that was Portgas D Rouge) doesn't take into account the newest mother introduced to the series last chapter

Er, dude. What if Crocodile wanted to be a man? There are people in the real world who'd give a lot for a sex change operation as seemingly simple as what Ivankov can provide.

Did you even read my post lol? I said and quote "I mean, the part about him possibly being a woman in the past is acceptable".

The only part of that theory i found completely ridiculous was the part about if Crocodile was a woman in the past, that he was indeed Luffy's mom.

I thought it was obvious, but in hindsight I suppose it wasn't.

I was contradicting your statement, and I quote, again:
If Dragon values freedom of choice, and is a halfway decent person, then the statement above is bullshit. If Crocodile wanted to be a man, where would Dragon get off killing the person who helped it happen?

I suppose I should have been more clear about the part of your post to which I objected.

Ahh, I see what you mean and I suppose you do raise a fair enough point on what Dragon's actions would have been had Crocodile wanted to turn into a man.

I still stand by my ridicule of the idea of Crocodile being Luffy's mother however as there's no way she would have tried to kill her own son, and I also don't see Ivankov not telling Dragon who Crocodile is/was, especially after he tried to kill Luffy.

So many possibilities....is that Mink Nami? Or did Nami lend her clothes to her? If the Mink is Nami...were all Minks forcibly transformed into furries? And holy shit Carrot-on-a-BEASTMODE. I expected the Minks to be formidable but hot damn, to almost get the drop on Zoro is impressive for someone so small.

Also, RIP Ryuusuke. You'll be missed.

I teared up. RIP Ryuu. Shit. Fuck. Shit. Why does Oda keep doing this.

This arc seems to be another filler thing. Hopefully it'll be at least interesting.

Huh. I forgot what happened to Nami and Chopper. Why were they separated? Where's Brook?

Sent ahead with Caesar to set up the exchange when they thought Doffie would actually play ball iirc. It's been a while haha.

In what way does this seem to be shaping into a filler arc? Especially when we're getting direct involvement from numerous Yankou in this arc. The Strawhats are going to be getting into fights against Kaidou's men in this arc, or did you forget they're on Zou too?

Not to mention the newest Shichibukai is looking for Luffy atm and could easily find one of Luffy's new comrades, defeat them, get the vivre card that leads to him and could make Zou even more of a clusterfuck.

Holy crap...this chapter. So Bepo confirmed to be a Mink. And Jack(Kaidou's subordinate who's gone to rescue Doflamingo) is confirmed to be the one to invade the Mink tribe and cause all the destruction. But who's the villain of this arc going to be then unless Jack plans to come back and why did Jack attack Zou in the first place?

Also, something interesting someone pointed out. All the Guardian minks we've seen so far were of the chinese zodiac. (Rabbit/Dog/Monkey(gorilla)/Lion) Which raises the question if Momonosuke might be important somehow to this arc since he can turn into a dragon which is also part of the chinese zodiac.

I love the concept of a living island. Imagine a boss-fight, which kills or seriously hurts the "country" itself.
