This chapter was very informative. We learn where the three different routes lead, we learn even more about Roger's crew, and a sense of a plan is beginning to be formed.

The fight with Kaidou is shaping to be of an appropriately huge scale.

I was already satisfied with the chapter halfway through but then HOLY SHIT MARCO.

Will we finally get to see Marco again I am so fucking hyped I can't even. He's my favorite character in the entire series.

I love the completely nonsexual adoration Nami got this chapter.

Most shounen can't even pull that off, especially for a chick who walks around in a bikini top with giant tits.

Luffy's hearing things ability is acting up again. Any idea what that's supposed to be about?

 

Pretty sure that's Jack doing his level best to kill the elephant carrying Zou.

Holy fucking shit. I did not expect that.

I mean sure, in hindsight, attacking the country sized elephant might not seem like such a good idea.

 

So what are the odds that this actually eliminated Jack and his crew? Any of them going to float away on the wreckage? Artificial Mermaid Zoans for just such an emergency?

 

I expect Jack and maybe some of his henchmen to survive.

 

Do the artificial fruit still confer the sea water weakness? And does Haki negate that?

 

Could be they have Fishmen in Jack's crew now that I think about it, wouldn't have to be SMILE fruit users.

I don't think if the SMILE fruits have that weakness or not has come up. As for Haki, the only instance I can recall where that might be the case is when Luffy was fighting the giant octopus on the way to Fishman Island. He reached outside of his air bubble and used Haki to coat his arm, but I remember him saying something about it still either hurting or feeling wrong.

 

I don't think he will. I'm betting Zou can be classed as a super weapon on the scale of Pluto and Poseidon and this was a way of showing off its overwhelming power.(Hence why it needs specific orders to attack).

Plus Luffy and everyone else have already dismissed the threat and are now preparing to set out.

I doubt Oda will waste time on fighting Jack with the sense of urgency his cultivated in this arc.

 

If Jack survives I expect him to be at least severely injured and missing for a while- I don't think he'll be fighting any time soon. Probably something to lure Kaidou out, force him to take a more personal hand.

Btw, anybody seeing similarities between this arc and the Alabasta arc? Specifically, between Momo and Vivi?

 

I feel like Kaido coming around to kill Zou might be a way to show how he's on an entirely different league.

 

That's a very good idea actually. He might just come to commit suicide by Zou.

 

Update. The Reverie is going to start soon, I'm guessing. I've been excited about it for a long time, now. I'm sure it will deliver.

 

Meant that he'd succeed in killing Zou actually, Kaido dying like that would be WAY too anticlimactic.

Looks like the crew is splitting up for now though, and Vivi is coming back for a reappearance. Fun stuff all around.

 

Kaido tries to commit suicide for giggles. He would let Zou give its best shot and kill it in return.

 

Well, that happened. With all the discussion about Dragon vs Blackbeard, i think its only fwir that I feel a little pissed it happened off screen. Probably a draw, but loosing their main base has gotta have some repercussions on the revolutionaries
