This will end in a super sad Luffy vs. Ace, the latter who will support Whitebeard over his own little brother. ;(

    It's a trap!

It seems that the Big Mom arc is finally, tentatively, over.

Pretty underwhelming arc. Big Mom is a utter dissapointment Straw Hats can just waltz in into a emperors territory fuck all her shit up and get out of it without consequences the whole cake chase was a total waste of time and don't get me started with her lame crew the only interesting one was Dogtooth who got taken down rather anticlimactically.

Happy to see it end and hope the next time we see that fat bitch, she will be dead. Pretty hyped to see Wano hope it lives up to all the hype.

Enjoyed the arc well enough, and it's going to make a good entry into the Reverie now that we've had a face to face meeting with most of the super powers that will be joining.

God, this newest chapter (today. Altered time because of Golden Week) was fun. Transition chapter, so nothing plot relevant, but satisfying to read.

Oh, and about the Reverie - https://thelibraryofohara.com/2018/...hing-you-need-to-know-before-the-reverie-arc/

Good write up about what to expect and why it's awesome.

I haven't cared about One Piece since the time skip. Most of the arcs have been boring. I think I actually stopped reading like half a year ago. I just clicked Rehio's Reverie arc and I think I should catch up. Promises to be the most hype arc in years.

I don't think there's been a chapter without hype yet in this arc so far. Oda's definitely spoiling everyone.
Garp's reaction when told 2 Yonkou are out for his grandson's head?

    "Pfffffffft! That's hilarious!"

    "Dying to Yonkou builds character!"

Was that Shanks talking to the Gorosei? o_O

I assume he wants to warn them against Blackbeard????

Reverie will apparently only last a dozen chapters.
Yet there is Shanks, the revolutionnary, the Celestial Dragons big secret (/hat?), the marines, the dumbass who want to put his ass on the chair and become king, CP0...
    This is chaos.

And if Big Mom get involved in Wano, teaming up with Kaido, the next arc is going to be even more chaotics.

The last 2 years since the start of the Zou arc have been some of my favorite One Piece chapters period. Zou and Reverie are some of my favorite arcs just because the world building that Oda does is ridiculous. Excluding a couple of the final WCI/escape from Big Mom chapters each week has just been continuously getting better and better.

It's ridiculous to me that I have been reading this every week for over 12 years now and I am the most excited I've ever been. Finally seeing Wano and all the craziness that is going to happen there is just amazing.

Not that hyped for Wano, but I'm glad we got to see Marco again. He's my favorite of the extended cast.

Are people here still keeping up?

Wano is shaping up to be the biggest battle in One Piece to date.

Big Mom and Kaido have agreed to an alliance and the war is about to start.

Assuming we don't go back to Reverie now. Oda said we would see more Reverie in 2019 and I don't see a better place for it than between arc 2 and 3 of Wano.

Probably the best the manga has been since the time skip.

Completely the opposite opinion. Wano has failed to make me care. Mostly because we've seen the same exact scenario a dozen times already. I just want it to be over.

Im sure the battles will be hype, but all the build up is falling flat for me.

People over at r/onepiece are hyping it up to be the best chapter ever. It was good worldbuilding and I liked it.

Just let my expectations grow too much and was kind of let down.

Oh, wow, I completely forgot we used to enthusiastically discuss One Piece on DLP.

Yeah, the spoiler provider hyped up this chapter too much. It was effectively an exposition dump. But hey, even a world building exposition dump is hype.

Not too excited about 3 of the most independent minded individuals being on the same crew. It just doesn't gel with their image. Its just like how I can't imagine Luffy ever following anyone(But now that I think about it, he would have joined Shanks in a heartbeat).

I am interested in learning that Teach is related to Rocks. It completes his dynamic with Luffy where they are similar opposites. Luffy is the Spiritual Successor of Roger, and Teach is the Spiritual successor of Rocks

I liked the chapter, but I generally don't read spoilers so didn't even realize it was supposed to be a big one.

(Am I the only one who hums 'Rock the Casbah' whenever Rocks' full name was mentioned?)

I've never read the spoilers before a chapter comes out. It was just that the spoilers came out a day earlier than normal and the spoiler thread was trending on reddit and twitter.

With the information that members of the Rocks pirates regularly tried to kill each other, I think it makes sense. Rocks was stronger than the yonko so they were willing to follow him for a while. It does seem odd that a mid 30s whitebeard would sail under someone else's flag.

So we don't actually get confirmation that Teach is related to Rocks. It does line up timeline wise though. Blackbeard would have been 2 when Rocks was killed. Could be his dad.
