Well I just binged all the episodes that are out now today. Good series. Very funny, very nice artwork/animation. Kind of reminds me of Worm in a few ways, with the superhero organization and such, though obviously much, much less serious.

 

So guys do you think Saitama has a similar relationship to the monsters as Eidolon had with the Endbringers in Worm?

In his Flashback he said that the Crab man reminded him of a show he used to watch as a kid.

Also, the Mole People showing up after his dream.

Coincidence?

 

I'm betting yes, the crab man was for shits and giggles and the same with the mole people. Doubt they are linked to him beyond the comedy factor.

Saitama's face in the last scene was pure gold.

The entire episode was top notch action and comedy-wise.

 

Saitama's face as he said 'I guess I'll go left then' was legit the best. Holy shit I lol'd so hard irl.

God dammit. I was hoping we'd see the Boros fight this episode. Oh well. It was a good episode, and then next one is gonna be awesome. I can't wait.

 

The thought occurred to me as well, but doesn't he also say that these kinds of things were happening for years before he even encountered the crab guy?

 

So I finally sat down and read this again beyond the first chapter. On the one hand, it's amusing in its own ways. On the other, I find some sections that I've just skimmed to get on to the next page. A good time waster, but I think it's going on the back-burner until several more chapters are out. Might have to try the anime next.

 

Is the series actually going to end after the fight with Boros(?). This would have been incredibly short if so, but it would definitely make sense. If at some point Saitama or Boros don't punch a hole through the planet, I will be disappointed.

 

I won't say there's a hole involved but it's definitely view-able from space.

 

I like how the anime actually fleshes out what's happening beyond just the fight between the S-class and the aliens. It's been doing that a lot, adding some actual scenes to makes sense of why things were happening the way they were, like Genos being S-class and the additional Amai Mask and Mumen Rider scenes.

 

Yeah I saw that message too. I certainly hope not. Maybe they're just planning on having the season end at this point, then picking up season two as things build up to the next big villain?

 

They might have enough content in the manga for a second season, but I have no idea if the companies involved will want to pay for it. It depends on how well the Blurays are selling over there.

 

Using my meager knowledge of both Japanese and the subject matter, it seems to be selling okay. Not particularly well, but not particularly badly.

It'll probably sell shitloads better in the West, but Japan doesn't give a single shit about the West even in the face of actual, undeniable profit, so that's not saying much.

 

The author of the manga tweeted that he would work hard to make season two happen so that bodes well for the chances of a second season.
