Good point, DB. When will Harry finally grow a backbone and start using curses above third year? And to add to the ever-growing pile:

"Who do you want as your account manager?" asked the goblin.
    "Griphook." Harry replied.

how comes it that I always read this line when false imprisoned Harry declared that he will not join Voldemort on the shores of Azkaban with all his former friend hearing that?

    and where is Miss Piggy?^^°

How about Snape's "Arrogent just like your father, Potter". Snape has a little better insult vocabulary than that.

    "Wotcher [insert name]"

Overuse of: "The one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord approaches...born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh month dies...and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal, but he will have power the Dark Lord knows not...and either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives...the one with the power to vanquish the Dark Lord will be born as the seventh month dies..."

That's one impressive memory Harry has there!

Yeah, especially when he seems to forget all the mistakes he made the year(s) before...

I've seen a lot of this too:

"The Dark Lord sat on his throne in a dark shadowy place..."

"Harry finally stopped crying after reading his parents letters and looked around his Gringotts vault. He then vowed to take his revenge on Voldemort for all that he has done to him."

    Also names like:

    "voldywart"
    "voldy"

Well, let's see. I'm not sure I can think of one... aha! Here we go.

    "BOY!" - Uncle Vernon.

Though, he does seem to use that word a lot in canon when calling Harry, so I guess it's fine.

"Oh and Wormtail/Lucius/Random Death Eater," said Voldemort, smirking, "...CRUCIO!!!"

I hate that line. Hate it. But since it almost always only appear in badly written fics, it doesn't bother me much.

I get irritated at every will Sirius left including "I, Sirius Orion Black, being of sound mind - shut it, Remus!"

And I know Jeconais feels guilty every time "Dark Tosser" is used and used again.

'Fiery' and 'spunky' should be banished from the dictionary thanks to Harry/Ginny fics. Unless someone's being burned at the stake, or the dried crusted baby batter has left their matted hair 'spunky.'

    Ha ha aw man...:wall:

I know I've used a couple of the "DON'T" lines and probably the Crucio thing, too, but it wasn't Voldemort who said it. And I did have a fifth year Harry using the Reducto curse. That sucks. Or I suck. Noted.

Hmm....I just really hate lines that are supposed to somehow make a man out of Harry when two seconds before he was being a whiney bitch.

"...and that was the last time Harry Potter, the Boy Who Lived, would ever shed a tear..."

    --or retarded shit like--

"....he promised himself he wouldn't cry anymore for those who perished in the war. They died fighting, and it was up to him to carry on their memory...blah blah blah.."

Eww nonjon lol gross, but good point.

I'm also tired of Uncle Vernon having a 'maniac glint' in his eyes. Vernon deserves no glint... leave the odd eye expressions to Dumbledore.

Come up with other insults for Dudley then 'Dudleykins' 'Dinky-diddydums' 'Baby Wale' 'Duddley Wuddley' and 'Pig in a Wig'. Go with good insults, such as lard-ass.

"I want to be Harry, Just Harry,"

"I don't want another scar, their all I've been judged by!"/other variations of emo scar-bitching... he then proceedes to cut himself and leave scars.

Also, I've found a quote that made me want to play tag with traffic.
This was taken from Popping Corn's 'Harry's trip in time' on FF.

" You say that again Ron/Malfoy/Harry, and you'll be on the bad end of my new and improved Bat Bogey Hex!" Ginny said venomously.

The whole idea that Ginny, given all her talents (in fanfiction) has to rely on one hex pisses me off.

Ginny, in general, pisses me off.

"'Voldemort,' Harry said. The crowd shuddered. 'Oh come on! It's just a name! Fear of the name increases fear of the thing itself!'"

Now, I know that this is true, canon-like and realistic, but could the authors please come up with something more original to say than that.

Something that really irks me is :

“Go on, take hold of it and give it a wave, Harry.” (this also makes ollivander guy sound like a pedophile too)

Why can't they something different more interesting than the same old cannon stuff. Like for example some things I thought of off the top of my head:

"Go ahead Harry, shake it like a saltshaker"

    "Give it a twirl"

Or something else except for the generic crap we get everytime Harry goes to get a wand.
