To move away from the pornographic content, the new short is out with Soldier beating up gang members with a piñata.

 

He was channeling his inner Batman a lot but I still liked it. I mean, it got cheesy at times, but then again, most shorts did.

So yeah, really loving the general story telling so far, be it the comics or the shorts corniness and all.

That said, mate and I agree that it is criminal that Reinhardt's engineer is not playable in the game, although I hope she appears in the what seems like inevitable movie or series.

Or at least, single player story campaign xD

 

Not as cheesy as it could have been (I would have bet millions on him answering "You're a hero!" with "Not anymore. I'm just a soldier now." or something along those lines. Also, I was expecting him to use his impressive-looking healing field in front of the girl after taking that blast-hit.) and not as satisfying as it could have been (I mean, they completely ignore the poor omnic in the end... they could at least have had the little girl help out the guy after she was helped by Soldier). But still very enjoyable.

Blizzard is absolutely killing it with this game and all things around it. Can't wait for release tomorrow(ish).

Heard a cool fan theory that Sombra is Pharrah's mum? (who was also a sniper on the OG Overwatch strike team and who also is mentioned by Reyes often in the beginning of a match 'Where's Sombra when you need her' etc)

Suggests familiarity. Also makes sense. It's the theory I like the most I think.

What's the rumour? She'll be revealed 'Monday'? We'll see.

 

Yeah heard Pharrah's mum has been going to come into play for a couple days now.

On the 76 short, I got to admit it's my least favorite. Not saying I didn't like it, I did. But compared to the other three, Winston/Reaper, Tracer/Widowmaker and Hanzo/Genji, I felt this one fell slightly short.

Still enjoyable, but not as much as the others for me personally. Hopefully the girl becomes a hero in the future because that changes the dynamic of the short, as it is it really doesn't feature much about 76 at all beyond some kool fight scenes.

I felt bad for the Omnic, and even worse that Blizzard ignored him the rest of the short. At least show someone offering him a hand at the end of the short or something, I can't handle the sadness I felt looking at the poor bucket of bolts.

On a positive note I have received a call and work does want me to come in early, but on Wednesday instead of tomorrow, so one day of Overwatch.

I have been putting off reading the comics and any stories involving the lore except for videos until today on purpose so I can pump myself up for tomorrow, not that it is needed. Looking forward to the next couple hours and what I will learn that you probably all know already.

For such a simple game I haven't been this hyped in years. Bravo Blizzard, bravo.

 

Getting Sombra in the character lineup is a bit expected now, so I would love a twist from Blizzard such as them introducing her daughter, the girl from the short, as a hero instead. She takes on her powers (her tech or whatever) and becomes her legacy, following on her footsteps. That really tickles my fancy.

 

I saw that the play button wasn't greyed out any more, and was so excited.
