Then they will limit amount of ppl that will play this game to only Blizzard fans(for most part).

Imo this game will be free to play with skins from cash shop. That way we will have a big player base.

It is coming to PS4 and Xbox too

 

They've confirmed it's full price on consoles.

Note: Game Informer is owned by Gamestop - they'd def have the inside track on these things. Blizzard confirmed it for them too, in the article's update. Blizzcon is hours away, so I'll no doubt know more soon...

It looks really awesome, but sadly I didnt get into the first beta Maybe the next one. Im pretty excited for this new world, its fresh and the heroes and villains seem interesting.

Saw way too many people buy full sets of Overwatch merchandise last night. Way too many.

Also what're the map objectives liek right now? Super gimmicky to the point where fighting is worthless, standard shooter load out, or they go for something innovative?

 

At the moment they only have two types of maps, Capture the flag and Payload plus mix of this two. You need to use tactics and team play to win so normal running around and killing will not work well, especially when you can change your hero on the fly to find a counter.

If they wanted my money for the collector's edition, they should have made the statue of Tracer.

Yes. You can pre-order all versions now. I just bought the PC origins edition for $90 (australian).

You can pre-order ps4/xbone editions too for same price, but that looked like you can only do so for the physical versions (at least for the Origins editions).

Edit: not going to lie, while it was extremely stupid of me, when I first read the word origin I feared that I would have to play this on Origin for some reason and groaned until I remembered 2 seconds later that Blizzard had its own thing.

 

This is good. Been swaying between upgrading/buying a new PC for overwatch or getting a ps4 in prep for VR next year.

Weirdly, you left out the most substantial bit of story incoming - a graphic novel regaling Overwatch's origins starring (as of now) Reaper, Soldier, Torbjorn, Reinhardt and Pharra's Sniper mum.

And Tracer reminding me of Tonks? Eh, I dunno. Maybe if she gets a pink haired skin.

 

Yep, just too much info blizz is throwing at me.

The only thing I worry for this game is the size of player base, blizzard games tends to steal players from each other.

PS. Thank god this is coming soon, they are not making the same mistake they did with Blizzard DOTA, All Star, Heroes of the Storm

 

The only Blizzard game I can really see this competing with is Heroes of the Storm and that has a fairly small player base to begin with. WoW, Starcraft, Diablo etc all have their own core playerbase that will never really stop playing.

 

I see Heroes, HS and Overwatch poaching casuals from each other, at worst.

 

I think that Casual Hearthstone players are the people who play Hearthstone as a side thing while playing other games. You'll get a lot of people who play both Hearthstone and Overwatch.
