Zenyatta was kinda always good bar when the enemy picks Widow. I played a game with Zenyatta + Double DVa and it shredded everyone. DVa's dps of 160+ and Discord giving 50% extra damage was insane.

Until the enemy walked 10 meters away from the DVAs.

Competitive Mode

tl;dw
- 2.5 month seasons, 0.5 month of break
- too many sudden death mode (they want it for close match only). looking to minimize sudden death
- sudden death played on the map you are currently playing (no more koth sudden death)
- assault format change to make map last longer (no extra info)
- no tiers, there will instead be a skill rating (1-100), you gain more if you have less in the team
- ingame will show: premades, everyone else's skill rating
- cosmetic rewards: golden gun (higher ranked players gain them faster /u/Jaba01 ), sprays, player icon, and more (for highest rank players only)

 

Kinda sad to hear more maps will be coming at the end of the year tbh.

Might be okay if we get 5-6 at once though.

There is this theory that Mercy is the big Overwatch villain

I do believe that there is something to the whole necromancy/bring back from the dead stuff, really loved those hints dropped into Overwatch and that theory has been running around for some time but I really don't buy the Mercy as a "muahahaha" villain stuff. If anything, I see her as a "doing the wrong things for the right reasons" kind of woman. I don't think she intentionally fucked up Reaper but rather that she does want to "cure" death and tried her best with Reaper but her tech just wasn't there yet at that time and that is what happened.

So, yeah, I think there is a lot of merit to Mercy having some necromantic tendencies, but yeah, not buying this Mercy is evil stuff.

Thoughts?

 

I think I remember an in-game snippet between Mercy and Mei (or maybe D.Va) that alluded to her not having aged a day since Overwatch. Vampire!Mercy.

That sexy smirk is super suss too! She's definitely hiding something.

I also subscribe to the Mercy-as-a-crazy-doctor theory. Successful medical professionals have to maintain a high degree of detachment, and I believe Dr. Zeigler is absolutely cold.

We know how Genji had major personal issues(self worth, identity, purpose, etc) after being saved from death and turned into the cyber ninja he is now. We also have information(albeit not as much) on how apparently Mercy made Reaper into his nonliving spectre form.
There's bound to be another hero added that was "saved" by Mercy.
