Seagull's Pharah in there is insane. He practically wiped their entire team. His jump over the wall to take out the teleporter then concussion grenade to get back to the fight was amazing, as it also gave him a good route to ENVYus's mercy.

 

Confirmed Australians (and NZ and SG) getting routed to US servers (and getting horrid latency) is a bug that'll be fixed.

Hopefully before competative...

Well, she doesn't time travel in quite that way. Rather forward and backwards upon her specific timeline itself. That, and while it's not entirely determined just how far forward and back she can go, it is implied to fairly low scale. That being said, it would still be much faster than a normal in-city delivery, I suppose(not so sure about distance deliveries, or areas where a vehicle might be able to go at a higher speed, since while Tracer can jump forward in time in bursts, I'm not clear on how that compares to mph/kph over an extended distance).

I assume thats where the ranking will go, but whats the symbol on mine/Jon's mean?

 

Got some time to waste so decided to watch some Overwatch comp play on twitch. The first Ad I saw? League of Legends. Gave me a chuckle.

 

The pro play from the OG invitational this past weekend confused hte hell out of me.

Lots of defensive positioning I wouldn't have expected (further back, less contesting, often fighting off the point), but in retrospect made sense (for instant, on that ilios map where its all ruins and the defense point is that arena-esque thing in the middle, C9 was doing this thing where they would let the other team rush into the point so they were all on the low ground, while they themselves backed off to the high ground surrounding the pit and would crush them).

It made for some interesting watching, but I can't imagine most of those strats working yet in pugs.

Does the white and gold mean top 500 or does it just mean that its your character? Because so far from multiple streams on twitch every person has that on their own symbol, but I've yet to see it on anyone elses. I'm thinking it's more that is who you are so that's the symbol it shows you client side. Either that or every single person who streams is also top 500 yet no one else even in their own groups are, and trust me there are some gg people playing in these groups.

Also supporting this theory is there are people on stream who's skill level are only in the 50s yet they are meant to be top 500? Yet other people are in the high 60s already and it doesn't show the white and gold symbol. If they are higher skill level then some of these people then they should definitely be in the top 500 yet it only shows the number.

Higher skill = higher rank.

Getting convinced that's just that symbol it shows you client side and has nothing to do with top 500. Sorry to burst your bubbles people.

Hows the hero selection going for you guys in pugs in comp play? Getting to play what you want without unbalancing the team? Still no one really wanting to heal/tank as much as off/def?

One of the things I am looking forward to most in comp play is actually team comps in pugs. As it is in casual solo/duo queue the team comps can be horrendous, I want to run more double tank/double sup. Double tank happens a bit but rarely if ever does double sup happen in pug play.

I want me some Roadhog/Zarya and Lucio/Mercy

 

I went 8/2 and ended up ranked 57.



I've been playing Soldier/DVa/Mercy/Hog and I fucked around in one game and picked Torb when my team went double Torb already.

People are generally picking really well in my teams with the exception of two games.
