The guys that I'm teaming with all hover between 43-58. Of course if everyone just parties together from the start unlike S1 likely we'll all maintain similar ranks.

Going to miss comp for the next month though, so much fun

 

I think it translates to within 10 SR of the current system.

Not final though.

 

Thoughts on the changes, in no particular order:

- Can't say I'll miss Genji mains the few weeks after it goes live until Blizzard increments him back to somewhere between pre-nerf and nerfed states.

- I like the Mercy change. Might start playing her again.

- I like the Amp it Up speed song nerf, since everyone only uses it to rush the point on Illios/Lijiang 99% of the time and ignores it otherwise. Lucio's speed song has actual applications, but people will legit rage if you turn healsong off. Ever. Even if no one needs the healing.

One of the many reasons I actually detest Lucio. By far my least favorite support.

- The Roadhogg change is badly needed. Shitty Hoggs with high ping clip-grabbing people through objects is a legitimate plague right now. Gotta love clientside.

- Zen's Discord utility reduction should mean that there won't constantly be a Zen on both teams in every single game. So that's good. Variety is what keeps games like Overwatch from going stale.

- Deadeye getting a drain timer is a good thing. So many shit McCree's crutching on that 50% remaining charge to get a jump on another one because they can't git gud and not die while using it.

He'll still be a crutch character since Flashbang will let you easily wipe superior players, and have a highly rewarding skillcap since revolver sniping is still a thing. But not quite as much of a crutch.

Skillful McCree play will still take you without lube, and that's probably what Blizzard's aiming for. Kind of easy to play, not so easy to turn into a team-wrecking monstrosity.

Mei will still be a troll pick. It'll be marginally more likely you're trolling the other team than trolling your teammates though.

I may have an irrational dislike of Mei because of how many setups have been utterly ruined by shitty Mei walls.

e: Also the recharge delay should make Defense Matrix slightly less trolly. It's fun as hell to shit all over Roadhogg ults and Bastion sentries with the Matrix, but in close quarters it should at least reduce the sheer spamminess against multiple opponents. Right now you can nope a Roadhogg's obligatory post-hook shotgun if he's like .000000001 seconds slow, massacre him because lol-why-did-you-move-me-to-point-blank-im-dva. (hooking a full health D.Va as Roadhogg should absolutely be a kickable offense. Doubly so if she has ult, bonus points if she sees it coming and ults...). Then be almost immediately ready to block a lot more shit.

 

... Speed boost is the most broken thing in the game. It's the reason why Lucio has been a staple since the beginning.

You should be switching between the two, obviously. But still.

That being said, that doesn't mean I don't agree he's the most boring hero in the game.

I still think Zen should be picked though. 30% boost to everyone on a target is still amazing. Makes me wonder if they should change the nature of the debuff? Like a slow, ult charge nerf or an Ana like heal suppression.

Speed Boost works fine, they're just reducing the Amp It Up bonus.

Yknow, the thing that makes you shoot out the spawn room like a hamster on crack at the start of every Illios match ever. Blizzard apparently wants to dial back the silliness a bit.

You'll now presumably just shoot out of spawn like a hamster on coffee, and have a bit more downtime when you die rather than just going 'lol i hit e hi guys'.

Either that, or someone got trolled one too many times by a hyperspeed Lucio keeping a point cap alive.

Hugplx : Agreed about Zen still bringing utility. They can't nerf Discord but so hard, otherwise there's no reason to pick him. Transcendence is baller and all, but if Harmony Orb becomes Zen's primary thing at any point he's in trouble as a character.

I'm more hoping he just becomes a bit less common rather than becoming unviable. Zen is fun, but the spam recently is a bit silly.
