Halloween event online. Second mode added which is basically a horde mode, i think, just 12 waves of the junkenstein stuff.

The new skins are decent enough but no must have for me personally among them. Would like the Zen or Symmetra skins, even Torbs, but wouldn't feel miffed if I didn't got any there.

 

I genuinely think the Ana skin is one of the best in the game. I think the Zen one too has unique Lovecraftian versions of his regular lines too.

I haven't dropped my usual yet, because I'm being bent over a barrel by gatcha games lately though...

 

You haven't seen the Zarya skin yet. Best skin in the game bar none, holy shit.

So about that work...

Some pretty good skins, loving the Ana Penelope Cruz skin and the Zarya skin is pure lol. Torb viking looks good. Rest are all decent but I'd say those were the best, would of put McCree up there if it wasn't for the demonic hand. I feel like they tried to hard with the Sym skin?

But yeah I am going to be rolling around with Let's Get Physical for awhile now haha and I can finally sleep people as Ana and put candy on their faces.

I got less of a rocker vibe from her and more of someone doing aerobics. I mean, just watch the video for the song her shirt references. Glam rockers certainly had the hair and spandex, but not so much the leg warmers and leotard.

(Oh, looking into it a bit further, apparently she also has an emote that uses moves which come straight from a much-memed 1980s aerobics exercise video. So there you go.)

Anyone else play late at night for their server time? I do alot of night-shift so on my days off I play after peak times. Unfortunately because the game has been out awhile and the population has lowered slightly it's getting harder to find a game between 1am - 6am in the morning, it never use to be an issue but it is becoming more of one for me.

I wish they would implement a feature where I could queue for everything at once and whatever pops first I join, I'm easy I just want to play. I spend so much time now jumping between quickplay and multiple arcade queues just to find a game.

Anyone else struggling to find a game because of their work roster? I even get desperate enough to talk in general chat looking for a group late at night.

Did my placements for S7. Played all 10 games with three mates; we went five and five. I got 3063, one mate got in the 2800s, the third in the 2200s. How the fuck does this all work again?

 

Idk. I tanked my SR pretty badly in S6 by playing Widow a bunch, and just not playing consistently (2400 or so). When I did my placement for S7 I won 7 out of 10 and got placed at 1900. Like, WTF?

 

I don't have the link, but I'm sure Kaplan has said it's a feature, not a bug.

If you place people 200 SR below where they belong, then they should win their first couple of matches, making them happy. If you place them where they belong, then they have a 50/50 winrate, making them less happy. Or something like that.

But when everyone's lowered, no-one is.

 

That's only if they all finish their placement matches at the same time. For the folks that all rush through placement matches on day one, that's very true. But those are the hardcore fans that have been playing for over a year now; they're not gonna be driven off by something that minor, and their rank will rise to where it should be fairly quickly, as MMR systems tend to do. And that's okay, because that system isn't for them.

It's for the casuals, the people who go through placement matches two, three, hell, maybe even 6 weeks into the season. They'll place among the other players who actually are weaker than they are at the game and immediately start kicking ass. Which means the first impression the casuals/latecomers get is a very positive showing that their entire experience will be colored by.

It's actually kind of ingenious, now that I think about it. It's easily one of the smartest ways to encourage a large casual community that I've ever heard of.

• One of the arcade slots will now change on a daily basis to include a variety of game modes such as Limited Duel, Low Gravity, and Capture the Flag

I'm keen for this. I was thinking the other day I wish they had a section of the arcade that rotated daily or even every few hours, because as it is some weeks the arcade is meh, other weeks you get all the best modes at once.

Bring on more CTF.
