7.5. We finally get payoff to Blake figuring out the Behaim trick. A nice bit of humor with Evan. Ghouls. And then shit begins to go down.

Also, is anyone else assuming that the oft mentioned trauma that Blake suffered while on the streets was him getting raped/sexually assaulted? I can't recall if it was addressed more directly in the story already or if we've had a bit of speculation going on in this thread.

 

Yeah, this is probably it. There could be a supernatural element to this, but probably along the same lines.

I'm really looking forward to Blake confronting Conquest on his man-behind-the-curtain stuff.

 

I got the same vibe as well, tho can't say I like the aspect.

I'm kinda getting tired of this continuous back and forth that's happening between Blake and Laird. Didn't he already beat him 3 times? I thought getting beaten 3 times was the magical equivalent of a big "stop already".

 

Yeah, I keep rooting for Blake to just shoot him and eat the karma ding already. No horrors from beyond the stars necessary.

Conquest was just defeated by the power of friendship. Holy shit.

This was a really great chapter. The fallout from this is going to be huge.

I remember when this story just came out. I rushed through all the available segments and then was disappointed there wasn't more. Now, after a few months wait, I have returned to reading it to find tons of new chapters. Does the author still regularly update this?

I read up to somewhere near the second to last installment in Worm, and then abruptly lost interest. Couldn't put a finger on exactly why, however. I really like the whole genre and writing. But this new story surpasses Work in every way imaginable (in my meager opinion).

 

So binding conquest huh. By the way did the guy who fought Fell's grandfather bind conquest or did he allow Conquest to possess him?

Anyway, I wonder if there will be consequences on the police side of things for Blake, now that he's killed Laird. Maybe his death will be just another random one associated with the "civil unrest" that was ongoing.

Well, I think Wildbow just killed off his main character. It'll be interesting to see how the story goes from here.

If Blake is killed off I think I might drop this. Though I'm not sure if Blake is dead. My bet is going to be that when the void demon ate all of his connections it also ate it's connection to him. Thereby letting him escape.

 

I'd say it's more likely that we'll be following Blake into the 'place between the cracks'.
