I was liking the story a bit and then I stalled in act 5. I've read like one paragraph in a week in it. Is it worth pushing though it?

 

Blake's been a total badass this arc, so in my opinion, yes it's worth pushing through.

 

Depends entirely on whether you enjoy watching the protagonist suffer while progressing only a little for the majority of the story. The latest chapters have been better in that regard, but there's a reason I joked that it was all going to go wrong. Every time something good happens to Blake, something else happens that makes that good thing bittersweet.

That said, I have enjoyed the story. The characters are interesting, if complete assholes for the most part, and the world is fascinating. I'd suggest reading another couple of chapters and seeing how much you like it. Arc 6 is where things start really heating up so if you want to try to go through that one before deciding on whether to abandon it, I would suggest doing so.

So we're into the end game now and things are looking just plain awesome. It's a shame Pact got off to such a slow start because if the quality had been like this the entire way through we'd have been looking at some fantastic horror fiction.

 

Still haven't read past Arc 2.

How far do I have to go for things to start becoming awesome?

It's probably in its last arc.

This maybe the final arc(Chekov's gun has come into play). Although Wildbow said that he won't rush the ending but will let it end on its own terms.

So possibly one more Arc excluding the current one that just started.

Haven't even started reading Pact yet - wanted to spare myself the weekly hunger spams and salivating that Worm induced.

How has Pact been? Good, bad, excellent? How are the characters, the plot, the ideas discussed?

Would just look through this thread, but I'm afraid of being waylaid and assaulted by spoilers.

 

It started off very slow and the quality was merely good, rather than at the standard Wildbow set for himself with Worm. It's also one of the bleakest settings I've ever read, so if you can't take high levels of grimdark it's probably not for you. On the other hand, the latest chapters have seen a definite turnaround in that regard.

Still, after arc 4 or so the quality definitely improves to Wildbow's usual standards.

 

Has Rose died yet? If so, I'll start reading again ;p

 

She hasn't but as someone who detested Rose just as much, I got used to her in a way.

Or maybe its because she hasn't been getting that much screentime anymore.

 

I don't see what people's problem with Rose is. I mean, she's a terrible person, and a total bitch, but she isn't poorly written or anything.

In all fairness, Rose is a bit of a cunt, even once you strip away the layers of bias inherent to our point of view.
