So has anyone gotten around to seeing this yet? I just saw it 3 days ago, and overall for a movie that cost 15k to make, I thought it was pretty good.

I honestly got a little surprised when the demon drags Katie across the hall.

The method of delivery for the movie was pretty interesting. They don't give you random cheap scares. You know when the scares are coming, as evidenced by everyone in the theatre repositioning themselves when the moments come.

    Anyone else like it?

I just finished watching it and let me tell you, this movie fucking scared me. First 10 or so minutes were boring but then I started getting scared.

Also had some funny moment, like when the doctor dude said "They get more powerful around negative energy" or some shit and then Micah was like "Better not bring your mom around"

Maybe it was because of the commentary my cousin was making, or maybe it was because throughout the movie we kept on saying "It's a trap, it's a trap" but it wasn't that scary. The ?Wee-gee? board part setting on fire was unexpected, and the girl's possession was expected, or at least you could have guessed it was going to happen from a couple hints they dropped. The part when the doctor visited the second time was funny as hell for me.

It seemed more scary, imo, then it really was because of how well they incorporated and blended humor into/with the "scary" parts. Then again, he was a huge asshole about the level of Shezza's Denerian Harry, but he couldn't back up his talk or know when to quit antagonizing the demon; so I kind of had mixed feelings when he....

Watched this last night. It was pretty funny, but it wasn't really scary until near the end.
But playing with a Ouija board after the movie with a few friends was fucking scary.

I watched it and found it decently good. micha is a bit of a douche, but a realistic douche in that I know some guys with his mentality. I kind of wish it told us more about the other girl maybe through viral campaigns or something.

What I really wanted to discuss, did anyone download the original version that is circulating the interwebs? I'm curious to see what versions people have seen/prefer.

I saw the original ending after seeing the movie in theaters. Honestly, the revamped ending (theater) is way better in terms of shock value and fear. The stupid text and the end was terrible but compared to the original ending its preferable.

In the original she kills Micah downstairs as normal but doesn't come upstairs with his body, instead she comes up with a knife, stands over the bed for four hours, then sits next to the bed and cradles back and forth. She does this all night. In the morning you hear a phone ring, then later you hear one of her friends come into the house (because apparently they leave doors unlocked), you hear her find Micah's body, scream and run. An Hour later police show up find his body, go upstairs and see her moving back and forth. At that point she apparently snaps out of it asks for Micah worriedly, and walks toward the police (knife in hand). Police shoot the shit out of her because they somehow assume an 90lb chick walking towards them slowly and confused is a threat. She dies, movies ends.

I've only seen the original version, without the revamped ending, and it was okay... never really scary though. Some parts were pretty funny, but nothing really shocking. Overall I was very disappointed until I found out that it wasn't the real ending. Long story short, don't trust bootleg DVDs. I want to see the real version, see if it's any better

Saw it last night, found it reasonably scary since the filmmakers did a good job of building up anticipation and fear of the unknown. IMO, it's a lot scarier when the audience is in the dark and has no idea what's going on than when we see some special effects monster show up eating people.

I particularly liked the ending sequence; the girl walks off, you hear terrified screaming, Micah runs downstairs, and leaves the camera behind. More screaming, which suddenly cuts off to dead silence. Then ... THUMP! THUMP! THUMP! Then out of nowhere Micah's body comes flying at the camera. Startled me and just about everyone else in the theater.
