Its more of something I just thought of. You always see stories where Harry is betrayed, buys a time turner, "lives life to the fullest", so forth. Then you see all those stories that are parodies of that. But what if you parodize that. As in an uber-suspicious Harry, without any reasons to be suspicious. For an example lets just use something overdone. Harry's got 3-7 keys left to him by his parents, and he finds out from a goblin, when he goes to confront him he finds out that Dumbledore can't legally release them to him until hes of age. Dumbledore hasn't been bribing his friends, manipulating him, memory charming people, Moody doesn't train him, nobodies withheld his parents will. Oh but a necessity is that its funny and at some point Moody says, "And people same i'm paranoid." I've seen things little bit like this but not exactly, i'm not sure if this has already been done. It would be funny.

This sounds like it'd be similar to the parody of Indy!Harry fics I've had in the back of my mind for a couple years now. I think I posted something about it... ahh here it is. Stolen from my own post in the Anti-Cliche thread:
So yes, definitely, give it a shot. Go write it. I've not seen it done properly, but I always figured it'd be called something like "Independence Day" (because that movie was brilliant).

Lol, Lily who wants Harry to go live with Petunia? Now that's just evil.

If anything happens to us, our son is to be left in the custody of my sister Petunia Dursley. I know she hates magic with every fiber of her being, but it'd be interesting to see if being saddled with a magical baby would change her mind. 5 pounds says it will. James disagrees. I guess we'll see who won from heaven....

Lol, I'd want in on that bet. But to nonjon, I guess I'll give it a whirl. I haven't written anything worth reading yet, but maybe this will be a good start. Also, Independance Day was a good movie.

Technically it's cheating to be in on a bet where you've seen what happens. But hey, put me down for 10 pounds on James' side. I'll definitely read your story, and tell you whether it's good or not.

Yeah, sorry for hijacking this thread briefly, but this is kinda on topic and doesn't deserve its own thread.

I was just wondering if there's a fic based on Harry going back and forth in time, fixing little things along the way to try and get a happy ending for him and his friends, etc. Kind of like Blackadder Back in Forth (where Baldrick's underwear killed the dinosaurs, Shakespeare invented the ball point pen and they accidentally crushed the Duke of Wellington before he could reveal his grand plan to defeat the French) where they go back in time and screw everything up and have to go back and fix it.

While we're not supposed to at all, post "searching for" topics, I do have a fic like that in my FF.net favourites list, its only 4 chapters last time I checked, but I thought it was fairly well written.

Let me check and get back to you.

Yes, there is one like that I have thats like that, except its not a comedy or parody. It's actually supposed to be serious I think, but it does fit that whole changing time thing, except its from the beginning of time. And it's a super Harry.

Thanks for that - I know we're not supposed to do looking for fic threads, but I searched through the library (briefly) and on ff.net (which was hell) and couldn't find any. Last resort of desperate men after all.
