"Well... unless you guys have a plan, I'm going to see if I can't break the manacles on Ruby's wrist."

"If you could do that for me as well, I would be even further in your debt. As for a plan, I confess I am unsure. I can transform my appearance into that of one of the guards for a brief time, but I would need an opportunity to escape for that to be helpful. Otherwise, besides assistance in battle, I am limited to inciting the ogre, which is likely good for nothing more than a distraction."

 

"If you're breaking manacles, you may as well break everyone's manacles. I can take Command of any guard we come across, all but guaranteeing a grisly demise."

 

"Okay, but I would like if someone broke mine too. These aren't exactly easy to break on oneself."

"I want all of you as free as possible so we can escape. The more hands, the better."

I'll get to work freeing everyone. Big strong guys first, so we can all work together on all the rest. Taking 20 as needed.

"Look, you'll see what I mean in a bit. I just need you to help me knock out those guards.

 

I turn away any attempts to break my manacles and go pick up the veil.

"Knock out, or dispose of? I'm afraid I'll be a bit ineffective at the former, although I will certainly try."

Can we use the manacles around our wrists as makeshift blunt weapons?

 

"Doesn't matter to me. As long as I can get a good look at their facial features and you don't horribly disfigure their bodies somehow! Er, and their clothes. Try to keep their clothes clean."

I continue working on the chains, but I leave Ruby's untouched.

Getting a bit bored, I decide to experiment with the veil. Staying in the shadows, I wrap/place the veil on my head, and speak of things related to Asmodeus. "Archfiend, I ask you to lend me your power, to aid me in spreading your will and conquering the weak."
